Do You Trust Me?

Taemin's POV

"Taemin-ah, JongHyun-hyung! Wake up!" then comes the endless knocking on the door of our shared room at the dorm.

"Guys,please wake up" Kibum's panicked voice made me spring up from my bed. I took my phone before standing up and while walking towards the door, I unlocked my phone to look at the time. Ten minutes past two in the morning. 

"What's the matter hyung?" I asked in my sleepy state.

"Jinki-hyung..." his shaky voice alarmed my senses washing away all the sleepiness in my body.

"What's happening Kibum?" Jonghyun asked already standing behind me. Worry written all over his face. We already knew that it's bad news.

"Jinki-hyung was arrested." Kibum said with eyes already watering.

"He's what??!?" I asked again,hoping I misheard everything.

"Didn't he went clubbing last night with his friends?" Jonghyun asking a more relevant question.

"Yes, he was arrested at the club for sexual harassment! Search the internet for more details. I have no time to explain, I got a call from SM asking us to be there as soon as possible." Kibum hurriedly says as he gave us time to fix ourselves.

"How about Minho-hyung?" He is probably shooting a drama by this time.

"Manager already informed him, he'll meet us at SM." Kibum answered as we get inside the van.

"This is impossible! Of all people, how can they accuse Jinki-hyung of sexual harrasment?" Jonghyun rants as he rubs his forehead, his head aches as he thinks of the situation they are in.

I kept quiet during our ride to SM. When we arrive at the building, we immediately went to the conference room where Lee Soo Man Sajangnim is waiting for us. Minho was already there, stands up when he saw us entering the room. He gave each of us a tap on the shoulders.

"Onew will be here in a while, they finished interrogating him at the police station." Lee Sajangnim informed us. I looked at the old man, trying to see his reaction towards the whole incident. Unlike all of us, he is calm. 

"What will happen to Jinki-hyung?" Kibum asked the old man, worried about our leader.

"Don't worry, Mina is there to fix everything." with the mention of her name, there comes the punch in my chest again. Yah! It's not time for this Taemin! With Jinki being arrested, everything is now on the line, his career as well as SHINee's. With our upcoming concert, how can all of this happen?

The knock on the door ended my thoughts and I almost teared up when I saw Jinki-hyung with the manager enter the room. He looks so wasted, he can't even walk on his own, the manager has to support him so he can sit on one of the chairs. he's still wearing that checkered longsleeves paired with his favorite faded jeans. He even asked me the night before if the attire suits him, excitedly telling me that he'll go clubbing after a long time.

We immediately went to him. No words, we are just there beside him. Minho & Kibum holding his shoulders from the back while Jonghyun & I holds onto his arms. Even without words, we knew he did nothing wrong. We knew him more than anyone. He's not capable of doing such things.

"Where is Mina?" Sajangnim asked our manager.

"She left even before the interrogation starts, she left us with one of the lawyers from the legal team and went on her way after talking with the lawyer and the police officers." our manager stated, obviously not happy that Mina left them at the police station.

I was also a bit disappointed. How can she leave Hyung at that police station? She should have been there to protect him on any malicious question that they may throw on him. My grip on Hyung's arms tightened and he winced in pain. 

"I'm sorry hyung!" i apologized as i gently rub on his arms to ease the pain away. As I rub his arms, I noticed a small bump under his checkered longsleeves. 

"What is this hyung?" I asked him and he rolled up the sleeves, showing us the cottonball that's still plastered on his arms.

"They took some blood sample, they said that Atty. Mina Park requested them to do so." he explained.

"Why would she request such thing? Is she thinking that you are using drugs?" Minho cannot control his temper anymore.

"Calm down, I will call her right now to clear things up." Lee sajangnim then started dialing on his phone. Few seconds later,

"Hello, Mina, where are you?" he listened while the person in the other line answers.

"What are you doing there?" he asked with a knot on his forehead. Listening again on the otherline he then said,

"Ok, I'll put you on speakers so you can talk to them." and he did just that.

There's a loud noise coming from the other line before we heard her voice,

"Hello? Can you guys hear me?" she asked almost shouting so we can hear her despite the loud noise at the background.

"Yes we can hear you, but where the hell are you? It's so loud in there!" Minho can't hold back his anger.

Much to our surprise, she chuckled, not even a bit affected that Minho is so angry right now. 

"I'm in the club!" she shouted.

"Whaaat? You still got time to go clubbing?! Yah! What happens to, 'I will not take any cases lightly'? Minho mimicked her line from the day she was introduced to us.

"You're cute.." she said with another chuckle. 

"But I'm here for Jinki-ssi," she said in a serious tone. The loud background music already fading.

"Jinki-ssi, Do you trust me?" she asked with her firm voice, no trace of playfulness.

"I have no choice, I don't know who to trust anymore. I can't even remember what happened. I don't even know if I really did it." our leader on the verge of tears.

There was a long silence on the other line.

"You did nothing wrong Jinki-ssi, we will let them know the truth if you trust me on this one." she said softly.

"Ok" the only word that Jinki managed to say after pondering on the lawyer's words.

"Then, ajusshi, will you please organize a presscon? Make sure Jinki-ssi looks his best. I will send you the statement that we shall release. I'll be there shortly." she said, something on her voice makes me feel that this will end soon. Her voice sounds promising, we just have to trust her.

Sorry I had to use this scenario, but i mean no harm. I love Jinki and this is my way of letting him know that I believe in him. I hoped that I can do something for Onew during those hard times, i guess Mina did it for me 😭😭😭
