Jack rose early and went to the store for lack of some food at his house. He grabbed a few things, mostly for snacks, and put them in a mini cooler he found on the porch. Around 10 he texted Elsa.
Jack: meet at 11?
Elsa: sure
He drove to the rink and went inside with his key from work. He turned on some lights and set up a little spot in the front row right next to the rink. 15 minutes later, he heard a door open and shut. Pretty soon, someone was coming down the stairs.
❄❄❄
"Excuse me?" The figure asked. "Who's there?" A deep male voice asked.
"Jackson. Jackson Frost. I work on weekdays."
"You're not allowed in here unless you're a performer."
"Actually, I'm waiting for one of the skaters. She'll be here any minute."
The guy was close enough for Jack to see. He was big, and very fit for a man his age. His hair was grey, but his face certainly didn't show his age.
"I'm going to have to ask you to leave."
"I'm sure you know her," Jack said, ignoring him. "Elsa Arendale. Your star performer."
"Mr. Arendale notified me of no scheduled meetings here. I'm going to have to ask you again, Sir, to please leave the premises."
"I can't leave, I have to be here when she arrives."
"The door is that way." He said, pointing.
"I know which way the door is-"
"Then I suggest you go to it."
"I'm not leaving until Elsa gets here!"
The man took quick action and grabbed Jacks hands and held them behind his back.
"Ouch! Hey!"
"I'm going to have to escort you then." The man started leading Jack up the stairs.
"Let go of me! I have rights, you know!"
"Don't push your luck. I could and will notify Mr. Arendale who could press charges on you for trespassing!"
"I don't give a-"
"Jack?"
Both the man and Jack's heads spun in the direction of the door at the top of the stairs.
Elsa started walking to them.
"Ma'am, do you know this boy?"
Elsa looked both confused and amused.
"Yeah, I know him."
"Were you planning to meet him here?"
"It's fine, Max. You can let him go."
Jack rubbed his wrists as Max let him go. "About time." He muttered.
Max looked like he wanted to strangle Jack, but Jack ignored it.
"Very well, Miss Arendale. Will you need anything?"
"No thank you, Max," Elsa said.
"Don't hesitate to call for me if you need anything." He glanced cautiously at Jack.
"Thank you for your concern, but I'll be okay." Elsa answered.
The man gave Jack a quick warning glance before walking heavily up the stairs and out the door.
Jack looked at Elsa who, after watching Max walk away, turned to him.
"Sorry about that. Like I've said before, I'm not always this embarrassing."
Elsa giggled, "Oh, I believe you."
There was a moment of pause before Jack spoke. "Oh! If you're hungry I have some stuff to eat down there. Would you like to join me?"
"I'd love to."
The walked down the stairs to where Jack showed her his little setup.
"I know it's not much, and I would have done more, but you know, Mr. Guard and almost getting kicked out-"
"It's great, Jack." Elsa said, smiling. She sat in one of the chairs.
Jack grinned back and sat with her.

After the two had eaten a little, they took to the ice. Elsa rented Jack some skates and soon she was out in the rink. Jack surprised her by skating fairly well.
"You didn't tell me you could skate," she commented.
"Well, I do roller skate, and I used to go out for hockey."
They skated around the oval rink a few times, talking about what ever came to mind.
"Race ya?" Jack challenged.
Elsa laughed, "If you want to!"
"Ready...Set..."
"Go!" Elsa yelled, speeding off.
Jack chuckled as he sped off as well. He caught up a little at first, but not having skated for years, was unable to keep up.
Elsa turned around to see Jack coming up behind her.
Jack hurried behind, taking advantage of her turning back and slowing down. Elsa realized too late her mistake and was unable to pass him back.
They touched the wall at the same time. Elsa was able to stop gracefully. Jack, however, went right into the wall.
"Jack! Are you okay?"
"Yeah," he grunted, getting up off his butt.
Elsa smiled and offered a hand to Jack who took it and pulled himself up. "Nice race," Elsa said.
"Yep, felt nice."
"I can show you my new routine now, if you want to sit down," Elsa offered.
"Yeah! Sure, go ahead." Jack skated back to the edge and took of his skates. He replaced them with his converse, feeling much more comfortable.

Elsa performed some spins in the air and some jumps that were beautiful. She would spin low to the ground and gracefully stand up. Jack didn't know what any of these moves were called, but he enjoyed them nonetheless.
Earlier when they were talking, she told him of a move she was learning. She hadn't ever quite stuck the landing, but she believed she could tonight.
He watched as she gained speed and jumped high up. She was going to attempt some sort of flip/spin from what Jack could understand.
She jumped high up and spun at an angle. When she came back down her face looked mortified. Elsa was suppose to grab a leg and somehow spin down, but instead, she couldn't get it in time and missed. She leaned to one side, having been caught off balance and landed directly on her arm.
Jack watched helplessly as she crashed into the ice. The thunk echoed throughout the rink and dissipated into the air.
"Ahh!" Elsa cried out in pain. Jack hurried to the ice, but his converse were not made for walking, much less running, on the ice. He slipped and slid his way over to her.
Tears were welling up in her eyes, he could tell she was trying to hold them back.
He looked at her left arm that she kept grasping with her right. It was pink, slowly turning red. She tried to get up, but refused to let go of her arm. Jack helped hoist her up and back to the chairs. Tears were streaming down her face, but she cried silently. He sat her down and looked again at the arm, which was now turning a sick purple color.
"Is it broken?" He asked her seriously.
"I d-don't know," Elsa answered, breathing irregularly.
"I'm going to call the hospital, they can come get you-"
"No, that'll take too long. You take me."
Jack simply nodded and helped her up and to his car.
