Jack drove home. He planned on visiting Elsa soon, but right now his mother needed to see him. He had been gone way too much and felt he owed her his presence.
He dropped his keys on the table by the door. "Mom?"
"In the kitchen, sweetie!"
She was sitting at the table doing a newspaper crossword.
"I never knew you were into crosswords," Jack commented.
"I'm not, and now you know why," she showed Jack what she had filled out.
"Mom, you can't make words fit by shading in the extra squares.."
She laughed, "I know, I know. It makes me feel smarter though."
Jack chuckled. "I see." He went around her, kissed the top of her head, and went straight for the fridge. He grabbed some leftovers and heated them in the microwave.
Sitting down, he ate his makeshift lunch while his mother tried, and failed, at her crossword.

Elsa lay on her back in her bed. Her arm hurt too much when she did anything, so laying in bed was the obvious choice. Her laptop was on her lap, so she had the perfect view with her head propped with pillows. It was very cozy in her room. Anna was told to stay home more often with Elsa's injury. Anna complained it wasn't her fault, but that only got her in trouble.
Their parents were a little over protective. That's really the only way they could describe it.
The weekend had flown by and now it was Monday. Their parents were at work, Anna in her room, and Elsa in her bed.
At about one in the afternoon, the doorbell rang.
"I've got it!" Anna yelled. Elsa could hear her loud footsteps hurry down the stairs.
After a while she heard her yell, "Get out!"
"No." Elsa recognized that voice. Her eyes widened in horror.
The cat guy was back.
Things had been going so well with Jack, and with her arm and all, she'd been a bit busy. She had completely brushed Hans from her mind and was caught completely off guard.
Pretty soon, footsteps were heard coming up the steps. Geez, they walked loud.
"You are not welcome here! This is like breaking and entering! I could send you to jail!" Anna yelled.
"I didn't break anything! You opened the door, I came in. Simple."
"This is not simplicity we're talking about! This is about you barging into our house uninvited!"
Elsa's door was pushed open to a half smiling Hans and a fuming Anna.
"What is he doing here?" Elsa asked, annoyed.
"He thinks he owns the place or something," Anna crossed her arms, staring daggers at Hans.
"Glad to see the Ice Queen is feeling better."
"How did you know-"
"Your mother told my dad. He called me and said I should visit."
"So I have your dad to blame for this," Elsa folded her arm across her chest.
Hans shrugged, "it's not like he made me. I came on my own behalf to make sure you were okay."
"And now you know, so you can leave now. Goodbye!" She looked back to her computer screen.
He came closer and closed it. "Ice Queen, y-"
"You heard her! Move out!"
"Just a minute, drill sergeant!" Hans hissed at Anna.
He turned back to Elsa and grinned his cat grin. "Ice Queen, you want to go get ice cream or something?"
"No." She started to open her laptop again, but he closed it a little faster than he'd wanted to.
"Heh heh, you know, it would probably make you feel better," He said through gritted teeth.
"No."
"Listen, I have a deal for you-"
"I don't like deals."
He grinned which was not the response she'd been expecting. She was terrified.
"Alright!" He swooped her up, bridal style, and started for the door.
"Hans! Put me down now!" Elsa yelled at his face, pushing on him. He was way too strong for her frail body. Anna was right next to him, screaming in his ear to put her down. He ignored both of them and took Elsa outside.
His car was in the driveway. She feared he might take her somewhere far and leave her there. She kicked all the harder, though it didn't make much of a difference.
"Hans!"
He finally set her down. She looked straight at him, ready to start a rant. "Hans! What the h*ll! You can't just take me from my room and carry me out of my house without any-"
"Elsa! Watch out!" Anna yelled.

Jack worked at the ice cream parlor that day. His plans were to go visit Elsa after work. She hadn't tried to contact him since Saturday morning, but he figured she was just resting.
Hardly anyone came in on Mondays, so work was long, lonely, and boring. There was another employee during his shift, but they rarely talked.
Since today was especially slow, Jack got off early and headed for Norway District.
