I'm Sure this is Strange

Jack worked again Friday morning. He was excited for the weekend. He wanted to spend some more time with his girlfriend and he wouldn't have work to keep him. The Ice Cream Parlor was extremely busy that Friday so he was kept on his toes all day. By the time he was able to sit down for a moment, he was exhausted. And to think he had to work at the rink tonight made his head hurt. At least today was payday. At least it was Friday.

Elsa's parents came home late that night, as usual, but they came home together, which was unusual.
"Anna! Elsa! May we have a word?" It was more like an order than a question, but Elsa and Anna came down the stairs.
"Yes, Papa?" Anna asked.
Elsa stood silently, listening.
"We have something to tell you."

Jack wiped his brow before serving more snacks to a nice couple in the stands.
"Over here!" A man a few rows down yelled at him.
"I'll get to you in a second," Jack was used to impatient customers. He continued helping the couple.
"I said I want something!" The man yelled louder.
"I heard you! If you'll wait 10 seconds while I help this nice couple!" Jack hissed at him.
"Do you want a fight!?" Jack knew those words all too well. Jack finished with the couple and got a closer look at the man. He was big, bulky. He looked like he needed a shower bad. His greasy hair gleamed in the dim light and his chubby hands looked like they hadn't been washed off in days.
"Sir, alcohol is not allowed in the building," Jack said, believing the man to be drunk.
"Don't tell me what is and isn't allowed! I own you, boy!"
Okay. "Sir, you cannot order me to do anything. I'll sell you a popcorn, but you need to settle down." Jack was slightly frightened by the man's outburst, but didn't show it.
The man stood now. "Don't bribe me with your stuff, boy! I don't need your pity!"
"Calm down-"
"No! No! No!" The man repeated. He stepped closer, and wound up, ready to punch Jack.
Jack pushed the button on his radio, thankful he had it.
"Security-" the man swung. Jack ducked. By now people were watching their little show instead of the show they paid for, which made Jack very uneasy.
Soon, but not soon enough, in Jack's opinion, Max and two men behind him stomped down the stairs.
The man looked distressed and enraged at the same time.
"How dare you, boy!" Jack was too distracted by the men coming down the stairs to realize the man was taking another swing.
Jack took one straight to the cheek.
Max got a hold of the crazy man and put cuffs on his hands. He hollered about random rights and Jack. He was lead up the stairs, though not easily. It took all three men to keep him moving.
Jack held his face for the first time and quickly took his hand away. His cheek was sensitive to the touch. From the beating he took last week, he must have looked pretty rough, he noticed. People stared at him, concerned, and his cheeks burned red. Though one was probably already there. He dashed up the stairs to get out of there. He went straight to the bathroom where he found the mirror quickly.
Yep. Red and turning redder. Great. This would make for a great story for his mother.

"What do you have to tell us?" Anna sat at the edge of the sofa eagerly anticipating the news. Elsa sat beside her, but not on the edge of her seat.
"We have to take a trip," their mother started.
"We are? Where? When?" Anna asked excitedly.
"Well, not all of us. Just your father and I."
"Why?" Came the inevitable question.
Their father took over. "Your cousin overseas is getting married and your mother and I thought of going to the wedding. On the way we were planning a cruise. It'd be two weeks overall, there and back."
"Why can't we come?" Anna looked sad.
"We are really sorry, but we can't afford all of us to go. The ice rink needs someone to be there, it's a main part of our income. Also, two weeks is a long time to be gone, so we need someone here."
"We're very sorry, girls," their mother spoke again.
"Okay," Anna said slowly.
"Elsa?" Their father noticed she hadn't spoken the whole time.
"Yeah. You two need a break. I figure I can keep Anna out of trouble for that long." Elsa smiled to reassure them more.
"When are you leaving?" Anna asked.
"Monday. Sorry it's on such short notice, I really wish we could bring you two," their mother tried comforting.
"It's fine. Anna and I can handle ourselves. I'll be turning 18 in a few weeks. You have nothing to worry about," Elsa reassured.
"Yeah, two weeks from Monday. It'll be fun," Anna said, wrapping her arm over her sister's shoulders.
