Background: It is a kind of test to determine if a species is worth saving or is worth not destroying or killing the entire species. It is only used on intelligent lifeform in the universe.
The test is only given to one human on the entire planet Earth. The human is given immortality and then hooked up to a machine or put in a machine (the tester gets to choose which one). What the two machines basically do is extend time compared to real time. So you can have the settings of the machine set where several hours in the real world happen while several million years pass in the machine world.
Basically, the test is to give someone immortality and if they can survive a certain amount of years such as a few hundred years, a few million years, a few billion years, or a few trillion years without going insane, and survive the mental and psychological effects of immortality. Also, if they can survive the physical process required to become and be made immortal. Then their species is worth saving and/or not destroying/killing.
