I am known as a hero, yet not for my ability in combat

I'm known for my ability of magic and illusion, you see

I started out as only one to entertain, but I convinced them my skills could be put on the battleground

Illusion after illusion I and the British army set, we tricked the Nazis and helped the trapped Jews

We slid in sharp wires in shoelaces of those deported to the treacherous camps

We sent them many useful items and area maps disguised as simple care packages

We were the A-force

The force that fought with illusions

With clever tactics, even magic can lend a hand on the battlefield

To history, we are the illusionists of war
