Stretched Too Far, Torn Too Hard

I have thick skin and an elastic heart,

But one day, the elastic will snap from being pulled too far, and my thick skin will tear and crack from all the scratching

Yet, you'll never see my heart snap,

You'll have flinched too hard

And you'll never know my skin is torn,

For I hide my pain too well

So blinded by your want to torment,

You wouldn't care regardless

No matter how much I hurt,

You won't ease away

No matter how much I break,

You'll continue to crush

I wonder if you'll come to regret what you've done,

Or realize it at all
