Between The Lines Of Law (Inspired By Leonore Goldschmidt)

It was unfair, that law

The law that an unliked public servant could be fired

Even if I had over eleven years of teaching experience, I was unliked

So I was let go from my profession

This was unfair,

But all I had to do was dare

Dare to read between the lines of this law,

And that is when I saw

A Jewish teacher still teach up to five non-Ayrin children at a time

With that, the idea was set,

And collecting four other fired Jewish teachers I'd met

A total of twenty-five students were able to study at Goldschmidt School

The law wasn't an oppressor forever,

And I wouldn't dare stand for its endeavor
