Inspiration #16
Matthew 18:17 NLT

This is the first time Jesus ever speaks of “church.” We know that the Law of First Mentions says that the first time a word or concept is introduced is significant as the meaning will carry over into other passages of Scripture for interpretation and clarity. Here, Jesus introduces the church as being a deciding factor between qualms of friends. The church is supposed to be a body of unbiased men and women wanting the good to override an evil situation. The church is not supposed to take sides and is supposed to be a place in which right is right and wrong is wrong. Do we see that in the church today?
