It had started as soon as you and the riders returned home for good. You began recieving anonymous letters and gifts. At first, you grew nervous that perhaps another enemy was rising and trying to get at you. But as weeks went by, you realized that it was more of a secret admirer situation.

You were headed home from training when a familiar blue terrible terror landed on your shoulder. It squeaked in your ear as you reached up and took it into your arms. Sure enough, there was another letter. You eagerly removed it from the dragon's leg and raced home. Once you were inside, you set the terrible terror on your table and sat down. Unrolling the paper, you began to read.

(Y/n), I'm sure you know by now that I am no stranger. And I am sure you have many questions, even though you never ask them. I am writing to ask that you meet me in person on the next full moon. There is a small island just south of Dragon Island. I will be there.

You felt your stomach twist. The letters were fun to receive, of course, but to go to a secluded place and meet this mysterious person? It seemed like a dangerous move. Yet, at the same time, you were desperately curious. With a deep sigh, you looked to the terrible terror. "What do you think I should do?"

The dragon stuck it's tongue out and licked it's eyeball cluelessly. With an amused grin, you took a closer look at the small dragon; you could tell a lot about a person by the condition of their messengers. This terrible terror was completely healthy. He was well rested and fed, without a single injury. And to continue carrying letters for the same person for so long, this dragon must trust his master.

Again, you sighed, getting out a piece of paper and charcoal, "I get the feeling I'm gonna regret this." Then, you wrote.

I'll be there.

Tying the message to the terror's leg, you pet his head before going to your door and setting it free. After numerous letters from the mysterious writer, you finally decided to write one back.

The day had finally come. You were nervous and excited as you packed up your dragon's saddle bag. Tucking a few extra throwing knives into your belt, you mounted your dragon, (D/n), and took off.

Hours went by and the sun had sunk below the ocean by the time you spotted the island. "Alright, take us down, girl/boy," you cooed to your dragon, heart pounding and ready for the worst. Your (d/s) landed in a large clearing, surrounded by tall whispy grasses and a few trees. No one else was there.

Not too long after you arrived, so did a storm. Lightning danced in the clouds as you hid along the grassline with (D/n). Rain began to pour down. However, you soon realized that the lightning was not part of the storm, but following it. A skrill. Your awe turned to panic when you spotted the purple dragon sailing down to the clearing. And you were shocked beyond belief when you saw that it had a rider.

A masked man hopped from the dragon, only the slits of his eyes visable. He wore all black, with the occasion accent of skrill-purple. His gaze rested on you.

Feeling threatened, you slipped a couple of throwing knives from your belt. (D/n) stood beside you and growled lowly. The skrill, too, became unsettled and began to snarl. But the man placed his gloved hands on her chin and neck, speaking in soothing, "calm, Lilith."

The voice was muffled by his cloth mask and pouring rain. You watched the man turn to you again when the skrill settled down. "Who are you?" You spoke defiantly, "why the mask?"

"Because you know this face all too well," the man responded. You could tell by his tone that this man was not here to bring you harm. So hesitantly, you approached him, step after step, until you stood right in from of him. You reached up and slowly pulled down his mask.

With a small gasp, your eyes widened as you stared up at a man you believed died long ago. "Viggo.." You breathed, "but..but you're..."

"Dead?" Viggo finished with a sideways grin, "'fraid not." He looked to the skrill that laid calmly beside him, "she saved my life."

You couldn't believe what was happening. And you didn't know whether to hug him or punch him. Sure, he'd spend months trying to kill you and your friends, but in the moment of truth he didn't. Viggo saved you and Hiccup in the hunter's lair; he'd sacrificed himself not only for you, but for your cause. After a long hesitation, you threw your arms around him.

Viggo was surprises to say the least, but hugged you back. "I must say, I expected a much more painful reunion."

You let him go and spoke seriously, "this dragon could've left you, and saved herself. But she risked her own life to drag you out, too." You looked from the skrill back to Viggo and smiled warmly, "if this dragon trusts you...so will I."

Viggo smiled back down at you and, to your surprise, his cheeks dusted pink. Suddenly, you recalled the many letters you'd been sent; someone had been admiring and loving you from afar. It was Viggo. The thought made you blush as well. Hiding your face, you took a small step back. "I-I should go back to Berk."

With a short nod, Viggo responded, "and I shall remain here. I have no home anymore, no people." But he didn't seem upset about it. He stepped towards you again and placed a hand on your cheek. You looked up to find him smiling sweetly, "but perhaps, someday, I will return to Berk with you, and attempt to earn a place among your people."

You couldn't hold back your own smile. With a quick, shy movement, you planted a kiss on his jaw bone. Then you turned and ran over to (D/n). Before flying off, you caught a glimpse of Viggo's dreamy smile. Boy was Hiccup going to be in for a surprise.
