Just to clear up any confusion: the beginning of this one shot takes place in the real world. Also, this isn't exactly an intimacy one shot, though it could be if I make a part two. I just had way to much information in this one to add a love interest. Enjoy! ♡

RTTE S2
It was just another ordinary day. You woke up, went to school, came home, went to sleep, repeat. Nothing extraordinary ever happened to you. You life seemed to be stuck in this endless loop of the same exact events. The only times you ever had even a bit of change were around holidays, or in the summer time when you would work in an animal shelter not far from where you lived.
You had no friends. You had no boy/girlfriend. You had no goals or aspirations. You didn't even have a family. That's right: you were an orphan. A foster home was were you'd lived ever since you were a baby. The odd thing was that, even as a baby, no one ever tried to adopt you. You felt as if the world around you wasn't even real a lot of the time. And, therefore, you found comfort in your imagination.
The How to Train Your Dragon movies had been your favorite ever since they came out. And when the Netflix series was launched, you couldn't wait to watch it. The other kids in the home made fun of you, being a seventeen year old who enjoyed a 'children's show'.
But the biggest change in your life was soon to happen. The next day, you would turn eighteen, and you'd be able to break this loop of seemingly endless boredom and repetition.

You woke up on the morning of your birthday, truly excited for the first time in a long time. Before you even opened your eyes, you took time to daydream of all the ways you could change your life now. However, your daydream was interrupted by a sudden shouting coming from outside. "You idiots," someone was shouting, "I told you to stay away from my house." The voice sounded familiar, but you couldn't quite place it in your groggy mind.
"Yes, and we did," a female voice argued. Another familiar voice.
"You catapulted a sack of flaming potatoes at it!" The first voice yelled on. Where did you know it from?
"Well," a third voice came in, another male, "maybe be more specific next time; how are we supposed to know that shooting flaming potatoes at your house was part of the 'off limits' rule?"
"You use common sense, that's how!" The first voice sounded furious, then sighed, "what am I even saying? You two mutton-heads don't know the first thing about common sense."
Starting to wake up a bit more, you wondered to yourself in confusion, mutton-heads? Well, if I didn't know any better...
"Geez, Snotlout, what'd you expect?" The female voice cackled.
Your eyes opened abruptly and you were completely awake. Snotlout? What was going on? Then your eyes focused on the ceiling of your room...only, it wasn't your room. What used to be off-white drywall was dark stone. You sat up immediately and looked around yourself in alarm. You found yourself in a shallow cave, sunlight peeking in through the entrance.
Stumbling out of the cave to see what in the world was going on, you found yourself quickly freezing in disbelief. Outside, dragons flew in the sky above. In the distance, you could see the familiar shape of the outpost Dragon's Edge. "Oh...my.....god......" you breathed, eyes as wide as golf balls.
"Hey, who are you?" A masculine voice called suddenly from your left.
You whipped around toward the voice to see two a very familiar faces walking your way. "..Tuffnut..?!" You spoke in shock.
"Woah, no way," Tuffnut exclaimed, "that's my name, too!"
It took you a moment to find your words again. "W-what? No, I mean--I'm not--my name isn't--"
"Hey, calm down," Ruffnut urged coolly with a small grin, "you must've been living on this island before we even found it."
"N-no, I just got here..I think..?" You trailed off, then remembered to clarify, "and my name isn't Tuffnut, it's (Y/n)."
"What do you mean, 'think'?" Tuff wondered, "can't you remember?"
"I remember falling asleep in the foster home..." You were still too stunned to try and explain further. The only thing you could think to say next was, "I think...I think I'm from a different world than you."

"So..you think you came to our world..because you turned eighteen..?" Hiccup asked.
You and the dragon riders were all conversing in the club house. After you'd settled down and accepted that this was all happening, you tried explaining it to the others. "Sort of," you confirmed weakly.
"Well, I'm not buying it," Snotlout put in his opinion, crossing his arms in defiance. "The idea that you come from an alternate fairy-tale world, where you watch our lives on some magical hunk of metal called 'Netflix'? Why would anyone wanna watch our lives? You almost sound as craxy as Dagur." He then turned to Hiccup and added sternly, "speaking of Dagur, who probably sent her to earn our trust and take us down from the inside!"
"Wait, you're still at war with Dagur?" You asked curiously. You then muttered to yourself, "so, what season is this?"
"Oh, it's spring," Tuffnut answered you happily, "I know it's hard to tell sometimes, with it being cold all year round."
"Wait a second," Astrid piped in curiously, "whay do you mean, 'still at war with Dagur'?"
Snotlout's jaw dropped. "Don't tell me you're actually buying this?!"
"Well..it's the only explanation," Fishlegs spoke warily, "how else would she know so much about all of us? Even stuff that we didn't know about eachother?"
When the room went silent, Astrid gave you an encouraging look. "I mean..that eventually...you guys become friends with Dagur," you told them awkwardly, unsure if it was a good idea to mess with their future. But then again, just being there was sure to do that, so you figured you might as well.
"Friends with Dagur?" Hiccup questioned in surprise. He sighed, unsure what to believe. "Well, that's enough for one day...you'll need a place to sleep tonight," he changed the subjected, gesturing to where the sun was setting outside.
"Oh, thank you," you responded with a small smile, "I can just sleep here. You have a spare yak fur mat back here, right?" You asked this as you walked to the trunk in the back of the club house.
The dragon riders watched in astonishment as you moved around as if you'd lived here for years. And in a way, you had. For the years that you'd spent wishing to be free of your boring world, to fly through the clouds on a dragon. You realized that, in your heart, you'd actually lived here that whole time.
