I can't believe my dad and Layla set up an arranged marriage. Thanks alot, guys. My life is going to burn into ashes.

When I finished my homework and tried to forget about the whole "arranged marriage" thing, I sat on my bed and started listening to my iPod. A couple of minutes later, there was a knock on the door.

"Skye? Are you in there? They're here." says Layla. I pulled out my earphones and stared at the door. Great, my future husband's here.

"Kay...whatever. Be right there." I said, getting up from my bed. I walked out of my room and walked downstairs. I heard my dad talking to someone and a familiar voice too. I took a big breath and slowly walked down the stairs.

"Hello, Skye! My, Landon have told me all about you!" says a woman, walking towards me. Woah wait. Did she just say.....

"Hey wierdo. What's up?" says Landon who was sitting on the living room couch.

"Landon? What the hell are you doing here?!" I shouted.

"Skye...Landon is your soon-to-be husband." says my dad, smiling at me.

Oh hell no.

"Landon? He's gonna be...oh my gawd. I think I'm gonna..." I started. I felt a dizziness in my head and hoped to pass out but sadly, I didn't.

"Puke?" asks Landon, "I feel the same".

"What the hell! Dad! You're kidding right?!" I shouted.

"Nope. C'mon, Mr. and Mrs. Rhodes. Let's leave your son and Skye alone." says Layla, leading Landon's parents in the kitchen as dad follows. I stared at Landon, jaw dropped.

"I can't believe it. My dad is such a bastard." I said, sitting across from Landon.

"Well, soon-to-be Mrs. Rhodes, whadya think?" he asks.

"Stupid. Idiotic. Retarded." I said, "Ugh!!!"

"Same here. It's all your parents' fault." he said.

"Excuse me. I might be pissed at my dad and my step mom right now but all of this isn't really their fault. Your parents' agreed too ya know!" I said.

"I know that. Ugh......thanks alot, Skye." he grumbled. I threw a pillow at him and crossed my arms.

"Hey!" he said, catching the pillow.

"I hate my life..." I said, sadly.

"Me too. It's gonna be worse when we're married." he said.

"True that." I mummbled.

"Well, had a nice chat?" says Mrs. Rhodes.

"Yeah. Really nice." I said, sarcastically.

"That's great. You two are going to be a great couple." says Layla.

"Hey, why don't you stay for dinner? I bet Skye will love Landon to stay." says my dad. Douchebag.

"Oh no no no. They have to go. Right, Landon?" I said.

"Yeah. I have homework and a project." he said.

"On the first day?" asks Layla.

"Um yeah. Senior year is a busy year." he replied.

"Oh no, that's alright, Landon. You can stay." says Mr. Rhodes, "Don't worry about your school work."

"Ok then! We'll pick Landon up at 9. Good bye, Skye!" says Mrs. Rhodes as she and Mr. Rhodes walks out of my front door. Layla and my dad waves at them as they drove away.

"Alright. I'll go make dinner." says Layla.

"And I have to go back to work. Skye, why don't you show Landon my room." says dad.

"Your room. I bet it's gonna be an interesting room." says Landon.

"Shut up, warthog." I said. I lead Landon upstairs and stopped in front of my room.

"Touch anything, I kill you." I said, opening the door. We both walk in and I sat down on my bed. Landon walks around and sits on my chair in front of my desk.

"Pretty cool room. I thought a girl's room would be all pink and purple." he said.

"I'm not that girly." I said. We were both quiet for a while. I glanced at Landon who was looking at me.

"What?" I asked.

"Do you wanna get married?" he asks me.

"Hell no. Why would I marry a guy like you?" I said.

"Why would I marry a girl like you?" he said. I stuck my tongue at him and avoided eye contact.

"I guess we have to suck it up and get married. Our parents already signed the contract and stuff. We can't break any rules." he said as he got up and sat next to me. I scooted away from him and looked away.

"When are we going to get married?" I asked, quietly.

"They said it's gonna be in spring." he replied, "Around April, May."

"This is bullshit." I said.

"Even though we're sorta engaged, are you still going to go on that date with Roy?" he asks.

"Definately. I don't care what my dad or Layla says to me. They can't control me." I said.

"Oh..." he says, softly. I plugged my earphones in my ear and shuffled my songs.

"Whatcha listenin' to?" he asks.

"Nothing." I said.

"I hear music from your earphones. What are you listening to, Jason DeRulo?" he says.

"Nope. Usher." I said.

"Cool." he said. This conversation is really wierd...Why is he being so quiet?

Something about him is making me feel wierd...

When Layla called us down for dinner, everyone was quiet.

"So, Landon. What do you think of Skye?" asks Layla.

"Wierd. Annoying." he replies. I glared at him as my dad gives Landon a wierd look.

"What about you, Skye? What do you think about Landon?" she asks.

"Annoying. Retarded. Stubborn. Selfish----" suddenly, Landon kicks me in the foot.

"Ow! You jackass! Dad, you know he kicked me!" I shouted.

"That's because you were insulting him." said my dad, calmly.

"Wha---you...ugh." I said, giving up.

"Are you excited for the wedding next year?" she asks.

"No." says me and Landon, same time.

"Alright then..." says she said.

"I know when you two get married, you'll be happy for eachother." says dad.

"Yeah right." I heard Landon mummble.

After dinner, we went in the livingroom and stared at eachother.

"Can I go to my room? I can't stand this quietness." I said.

"Skye, this is a good time to talk about eachother, you and Landon." says Layla.

"We already know about eachother. I'm cool and Skye's just annoying." says Landon.

"Shut up, douchebag!" I said as I threw a pillow at him.

"Skye, that's not how you treat your future husband." she said.

"Ugh! Shut up shut up shut up! I can't believe you guys set me up with him. You think that we're gonna live happily ever after but that's so not gonna happen! I'd rather marry someone else than him!" I shouted, "I'm so sick and tired of this!"

"Skye!" shouts dad, furiously.

"Fine..." I mummbled.

"So. Who wants dessert?" asks Layla, breaking the awkwardness.

"UGH!" I screamed.
