Newt's P.O.V.
After I was expelled from Hogwarts my family wasn't happy with me. Theseus looked at me like I was such a disappointment, but yet he hugged me. He always hugs me. Theseus hugs almost everyone. Thank Merlin that he doesn't hug the Minister of Magic.
I had nowhere else to go so I joined the Ministry of Magic.
And there wasn't a day when I haven't thought of Y/n. Her tear-stained face was the only thing that I could see sometimes. I secretly hoped that when she will graduate from Hogwarts, she will join the Ministry. But she never showed up. It made me sad. Of course she wouldn't show up, Newt. What a foul are you making of yourself. And even if she did, she would never want to see or talk to you again.
During the First World War, in 1914 I served on the Eastern front in a confidential Ministry of Magic programme to wrangle Ukrainian Ironbellys. The programme was ultimately canceled as the dragons only responded to me and tried to eat everyone else. That was unfortunate. I really enjoyed working with them.
When I got back to England, I then joined the Ministry of Magic's Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures.
I have spent two of the most boring years in my entire life in the Office for House-Elf Relocation before transferring to the Beast Division, where my extensive knowledge of Magical Creatures led to a rapid series of promotions, propelling me forward as a Magizoologist, although my family wasn't very impressed with my career choice.
In 1918, Augustus Worme who worked for the publisher Obscurus Books, commissioned me to write a book about magical creatures.
As a lowly Ministry employee I was earning only two Sickles a week at the time, so I eagerly jumped at the chance for extra money and the opportunity to spend summers travelling the world.
I have got myself a brown leather briefcase. I put an Extention-Charm on it so I could save and nurture creatures from all around the world.
I have travelled to a hundred countries across five continents while researching for my book, observing many magical creatures. I learned about their abilities, gained their trust, and occasionally beat them them with my travelling kettle if they got too dangerous.
In 1925 I began a year-long trip to document magical creatures and their natural habitats.
At one point I met a young Obscurial witch in Sudan, and although I couldn't save the poor girl, I managed to contain her Obscurus within my magically-extended briefcase.
I also visited Egypt, where, thanks to Albus Dumbledore, I saved an illegal imprisoned Thunderbird who I named Frank. I knew that I couldn't keep Frank inside my case so I had to let him go in his natural habitat, in Arizona.
But before going to the United States I visited Equatorial Guinea.
Carrying magical creatures inside a case was illegal so the only way of getting them safely into the States without MACUSA knowing about them was to arrive on a muggle boat.
Your P.O.V.
When Newt left Hogwarts you were miserable. One day, you were wandering around the castle and you came across a door that you have never seen before. You being your curious self tried to open the door, and it did. When you walked in you found yourself inside a huge room with nothing else but a huge mirror in the middle. That was very odd. When you walked closer you looked into the mirror and what you saw made you freeze and made tears appear in your eyes. You saw your reflection in the mirror, but behind you stood no other than Newt Scamander. He was a head taller than you. He was looking at you from under his hair and smiling. You slowly turned around and saw that there was no one behind you. Then you looked back and saw that Newt put his hand on your shoulder. You could swear that you felt his warm hand.
