"So... do you have anything in particular that you're curious about? About space, I mean," Brian asked, leaning back on the couch.

Yetta started to relax a little because he seemed to be feeling a little better, slowly pulling her legs up onto the couch to get more comfortable. "I'm not sure. What exactly do you work with in your degree?"

Brian still didn't seem entirely convinced that Yetta really wanted to hear this, so he started slowly. But Yetta did her best to let him know that she really wanted to hear more about what he did. Because she thought it was interesting, and she had hope that getting him to talk about something he was interested in would distract him from the pain. Which seemed to work out, because once Brian was certain that Yetta really wanted to hear what he had to say, he didn't stop.

Not for a while, not until he noticed that Yetta's responses became slower and shorter. It was then that he slowed down and looked at the clock.

"Oh," he said softly and cleared his throat. "It's already past 2, Yetta... I'm sorry, I've been rambling on forever, why didn't you stop me?"

Yetta, who had been resting her head on the back of the couch straightened up a little and shrugged. "It was interesting... you explain it all so well, I didn't realise it's already so late."

Brian looked at her for a moment and smiled. "You don't have to lie. You're very sweet, but I understand if I just bored you."

"You didn't, you really didn't," Yetta insisted with slightly more energy to get her point across. "I think it's really interesting and you explain it well. You leave out all the numbers, you just mention what's actually important."

"Still," Brian said with a smile, turning slightly onto his side as well before he stopped, grimacing in pain. "Uhm, well, most people don't really follow even if I leave out the numbers. Maybe they just don't care as much as you do."

"Maybe, yeah," Yetta agreed with a smile. "I really do care, I think it's interesting. Is such a shame they don't do any more actual observations at Greenwich."

"Well.." Brian began before he hesitated. "Uhm, if.. If you want to, I could.. uhm.. you know, show you around the physics department at Imperial ... one of these days..."

Yetta's smile widened a little. "You could do that? That would be so cool."

"Cool?" Brian questioned, smiling a little. "No offence, but you're a little weird."

Yetta chuckled. "Weird? How so? Because I think physics is cool?"

"Yes, basically. Most people find physics really boring, and then there's you and you're - uhm.. well, you find it interesting and it's - it's just odd. But," he was quick to add, "in a very good way. If something can be odd in a good way." He reached up and rubbed his forehead. "Maybe I should stop talking, it's too late for this."

"It's alright, I get what you mean. I think 2am is a good time for talking because that's when all those odd thoughts that you normally keep locked away surface and that makes it interesting."

"Oh, interesting," Brian chuckled. "I guess you can say that, yes. I just-- I don't want you to judge me for something weird and potentially creepy I know I will say eventually."

"That makes two of us, don't worry. If you'd rather go to sleep, that's fine too. I understand, you're probably tired. Do you have any plans tomorrow?"

Brian shook his head. "No, just a bit of studying, nothing really important. If I'm honest I.. I'd love to just get to know you a little better?" He didn't phrase it as a question, but it sounded like one, as if he wanted to check if that was an acceptable option. "Unless you are tired and want to go to sleep."
