The Olympic motto is faster, higher, stronger. Perhaps, this reflects what the world holds dear, these are, power, fame, and riches. Having this reality, we tend to compare ourselves with these demands which, at times, make us frustrated, and worse, we question the very purpose of our existence.

Our gospel today (Matthew 10:16-23) reminds us that everyone has a mission to fulfill. God does not necessarily want us to be differently famous, powerful, and rich. Rather, He wants us to make a difference as sheep amidst wolves, as loving people in a world of hate and indifference, as Christians amidst godlessness and self-sufficiency.
