The Spark in the Snow

I was slowly waking up in my bed made out of wood, some grass and some leaves. You could say we did not really have that much money, but we do it with what we have. I was blinking multiple times to wake up a bit. I saw my room becoming a little bit clearer with each blink I took. My room was completely yellow and I had my bed and desk in my room. On my desk were some books. I like to read, although I don't read too much, but when you have nothing better to do, why not?

I got out of my bed and looked at the mirror. My yellow and white fur were completely messed up, so I went to take a little shower.

On the way to my door though I saw a bag filled with all kinds of stuff. There was a note on the bag and it read:

Hey Spark, I already packed your stuff for your departure. We will be waiting outside for you.
XXX~Gem

I remembered that today was the day I finally left this den. I was happy that I was leaving, but also sad, cause I had to leave my parents and my home behind where I have been living for the past 19 years. We lived in a forest called forest Dome. It was a big forest where almost nobody lived, this is also the reason why I don't have a single friend in the neighbourhood. To be honest... I am kinda lonely....

I shook off the thought and took a shower of 5 minutes, went downstairs and saw some berries on the table. I assumed they were for me since it were my favourite kind of berries, pecha berries. I liked them because they had a lot of taste and they were also very juicy. I ate them and felt better already. To finish it off I took some water out of our water reservoir and went back to my room.

I went through my door of my room and saw the bag again. I decided to take a look inside of the bag. When I took a look the first thing I saw was a wooden bowl and in it was a grinder. I knew where this was for, it was for medical reasons, if I got poisoned or something like that. For the rest I saw a little bag and it was filled with 3 kinds of berries. The first one being pecha berries, the second one being a couple of oran berries and to finish it off there where a few sitrus berries. When I saw the kinds of berries I let out a little "yes". That was of course because I really liked all 3 kinds of berries and they were also really healthy for you when combined. The last thing I saw was unforgettable... It was my brothers red scarf .....

Flashback
"SHADE!!!! SHADE ARE YOU OK?!! ANSWER ME PLEASE!!!" No response. I started crying curled up and looked at the ground."Why.. just...why".
End of flashback.

I still can't believe what happened that night. Me and Shade were playing in a beautiful field filled with flowers. The place was pretty far from our den and we also were still just little eevee's. But when we were walking back to our den we were standing a little bit too close to the edge of a cliff. And then the ground under Shade's feet couldn't hold his weight and fell off the cliff alongside with Shade. I tried screaming at him and hoping for a response, but there was no response. After some sobbing I ran back to our den and told my mom, Gem and my father, Flare what happened. We immediately went looking for him but didn't succeed at finding him. We went home defeated and sad. The month after that had happened we still were looking for him but then we assumed the worst when we didn't find him. The only thing we had left of him after the accident was his scarf. From that day on I kept the scarf close to me and never forgot it.

It's been 10 years since the accident, but I still couldn't leave it behind me. I started crying a bit, but quickly wiped off my tears and put the bag on my back, grabbed all the money that I still had and went downstairs. When you walked downstairs to the left of you there would be a window that was shaped like a circle and next to it was the front door. If you looked to the right you would see the kitchen and if you looked forward you would see the living room. I took some last looks in the living room before I would leave the house. I saw the couch, it took in most of the living room and there was also of course the chair where my father would always sit on and to top it of in front of the couch, and chair, there was a small TV. The TV was special to me because we would always watch a movie almost every night. It was always nice to sit next to my family and watch some movies.

When I was finally done looking around the house one last time I went to the front door and walked outside. It was a beautiful morning, the sun was up, the sky was blue and there was a little breeze of wind. I closed my eyes took a deep breath and opened my eyes to see my parents waiting for me. I walked up to them and we stood there for a while looking at each other for a good 10 seconds. After the 10 seconds I saw my mom, gem, an Espeon, starting to cry and run towards me. She tackle hugged me but I stood my ground and let my mom hug me for a while, then the silence was broken by her when she said "I'm gonna miss you Spark...." She Said that with a soft and sad voice I looked at her and said. "Don't worry mom I'll come and visit you guys from time to time." "I know you will but it's always hard to see your son go..." We looked at each other and I saw she was wiping away her tears. "Bye Spark." "Bye mom." I said with a soft smile. Then my father came walking up to me, his name was flare, he was a Flareon. "Bye son, I'm also gonna miss you of course." He said that with a soft smile but I could clearly see he wasn't happy. "I'm gonna miss you too dad." Then we hugged and stood there just silently hugging for a good 7 seconds then he let go and said in tears. "Bye son" then I started crying as well and said "B-Bye dad." Then we had a group hug with all three of us crying and this time standing there for a good 30 seconds. As I was letting go I said. "I really gotta get going, it's a long way before I arrive at forest Grotto." "We know you gotta get going so go, but please try to visit us frequently otherwise it would be so quiet in the house all the time. You were always the energetic one." My mom said. "I will... I promise." Then I turned around turned my head and said "Bye..." for the last time "Bye son." My parents said at the same time. I turned my head and started walking of. I took 1 last glance at my parents who were both waving at me. I waved back and then jumped into the tall grass. My journey had begun.
