"Ughhh..."

Germany stumbled into the porch, slamming the door of the taxi closed. The bright yellow car quickly drove away from the grumpy, disheveled country's presence, no need to be there any longer that it had to once he got paid.

Gripping the handle of his worn black briefcase more firmly in his tired hand, his dress shoes tapped down the cobbled pathway to the dark brown door of their house. Germany sighed, the office had really worn him out today. He had to attend four meetings, which were all pretty pointless to say. One of them didn't even concern the EU department where he worked, like what did he care about the business in the ASEAN department?

Usually Germany never minded being busy, it gave him a sense of purpose bustling around working. But he was already tired since last week, with the ungodly amount of paperwork that Europe generated shoveled to him. It was stressful enough, but what was hammering through his mind most heavily now was the meeting today with the Southeast Asian countries.

It was none of his business, but he ended up walking out of the conference room fuming silently after a heated discussion with Singapore turned south, his close friend Japan apologising into the room behind him as she ran in her heels to catch up to his hunched figure. It wasn't her fault, Singapore was just being his 'stick-in-his-ass' self, but Germany had snarled at her when she tried to break them off, and he admit he did feel bad after letting out some steam. He apologized, and she immediately waved it off and gave him a hug, which he definitely needed then.

They talked everything out in the hallway, Japan calming him down and apologizing for Singapore's behaviour. Germany stayed silent, and told her he couldn't go back to the meeting since he had more work to do anyway. She nodded sadly, but understood and patted his shoulder. They were almost done anyway...

Pulling out the key from his back pocket, Germany poked around the knob and slotted it in, and the lock opened with a click. Gently pushing the door open, he kicked off his shoes at the rack and padded in in his socks. He could hear his love walking out to meet him, and his heart immediately soften and relaxed more, ever only doing that for him and no one else. Letting go of his heavy briefcase, he took another step and met him in the middle.
