The sunlight streamed lazily through the gap between the curtains, barely bright enough to do anything. Outside, it had snowed heavily last night, and now, the ground was freshly covered with a thick layer of white fluffy snow. The trees outside were dark blots against the scenery, and everything was peacefully quiet.

Germany woke up and stretched, rolling his sore shoulders. The bed was empty besides him, and he frowned slightly when he didn't have the chance to wake up next to his beloved. That was before he noticed the white wonderland outside, the frown immediately lifted into a bright grin, and he jumped out of the warm comforts of the sheets to grab their winter clothes from the closet.

"Russland!" He called out joyfully as he ran down the stairs, looking around. He put on his jacket first, holding a scarf and an extra jacket for Russia, when he found him. The kitchen was empty, there wasn't any sign of anyone ever being there at all. "Russland?"

There was no one in the living room either, but the radiator was already on, warm air flowing through its vents. Germany hummed and looked around, before his eyes landed outside through the window again. He stared in disbelief before hurrying to the door and yanking it open, a rush of freezing air hitting him right in the face.

"Russia!!"

His amazing, caring and certainly most handsome boyfriend looked up from whatever he was doing and gave him a brilliant smile. He held a shovel in his hands and was half bent over a small pile of snow, while wearing nothing but the shirt and shorts he had gone to sleep in last night.

"Are you kidding?!" Germany shouted again with a slowly growing grin appearing on his face, which was flushing from definitely just the coldness. He grabbed his shoes and walked quickly down the clean driveway, shivering slightly when another cold breeze blew by. "What are you doing here so early in the morning, you dummkopf?"

Russia grinned and scoped up the pile of snow, dumping it to the side and clearing another small patch of road. "Isn't it obvious?" He called as Germany rushed over, he was so adorable. "Yeah, but you're going to freeze!"

"It's only 3 degrees!"

"Exactly!" Germany exclaimed, taking the scarf on his arm and tossing it over his head first. Russia chuckled again as he continued to scold him lightly while attempting to pull the jacket around his shoulders. He could remind him that his territory has winters down to minus degrees, and 3 degrees was literally nothing to him, but he was cute like this.

"...Look at you!!" Germany finally finished, slapping both hands on his cheeks and dragging him down to stare into his eyes. Russia made a sound of surprise and froze mid laugh, feeling his warm palms against his face. "Your face is freezing!" He said again, just a few inches away from his lips.
