The woman's teary eyes carefully studied the boy as he took slow and confident strides down the stairs. It was strange how he was walking, confidence and dominance oozed from him and she could sense that something wasn't right.

The smirk playing at his lips was way off the usual bashful boy.

The way he was carrying his body down the steps, it was so different, a complete opposite of the timid boy she'd known.

"May I please have breakfast, Agie?" She reached up to wipe her face of any tears. The smirk on his face only got wider as she stared deeply at him through slightly reddened eyes.

Her mind was busy questioning the strange behavior of the boy when she suddenly heard finger snaps.

"Earth to Agnes" he released a low and mocking chuckle as his feet stepped upon the foot of the flight.

"I'll serve it" she spoke lowly, still feeling very suspicious before nervously scurrying off into the kitchen.

The boy strode proudly to his seat on the table, waiting patiently for the woman with the same unfaltering smirk on his face. She'd arrived only seconds later with a tray in her hands.

"Sir advised to give you supplements if you refuse to eat a decent amount so I'd suggest you eat up" she muttered, shyly avoiding his intent stare as she placed the plate of food down in front of him.

"If you need me, I'll be upstairs" she quickly informed, pointing up before instantly walking away.

"Actually Ags, I do need you" the way he was shortening her name, his tone was entirely different. Like he was a whole different person. Slowly, she turned to him, her eyes still glued to the floor.

Meanwhile, Colton had arrived at work with a permanent scowl on his face. The man had missed over two hours of work time, the same time that could have been used to do something productive, wasted.

He'd just stepped out of the elevator and everything halted as he took heavy strides towards his own office. He could see through the glass, a figure, a man. No doubt it was Acker.

He didn't need anything to bother him today, not even a warming visit from a friend. As he got closer, he noticed another person. Curious, he began to walk faster.

As soon as he was close enough, he opened the door. He'd noticed Acker, spinning on his chair and on the other chair was another man, an old friend. He took a few steps in, closing the door behind him.

"Inspector Diaz" a hushed whisper escaped Colton's lips as he inched closer to both men.

"Mr Acre" a small formal smile sprouted on the man's face and that's when Acker stood up.

"I'm pretty sure I'm not invisible" Acker pointed out in playful annoyance as Colton took a seat, he followed as well.

"To what do I owe this visit, Inspector?" Colton asked, raising a suspicious but concerned brow at the officer.

"Well..." He eyed Acker.

"It's fine" Colton told, motioning the man to continue speaking.

Back at home, Agnes was quivering before the boy. Contemplating his next move seemed impossible at this point, he was acting so different. Was he even himself at the moment? Was the shyness and timidity all a facade?

"Eyes up" she noticed the pair of shoes that came to settle before her eyes.

"I said up" his tone was stern, rigid and it amazed her how his confidence momentarily seemed to spike up.

She didn't verbally question his strange behavior though, all she did was silently obey. Her eyes rose to meet his and he released a throaty chuckle.

"You think I would just forget about the little stunt you tried to pull upstairs" she was basically shocked and shivered in her shoes. She had no idea what had gotten into the boy's head. This wasn't the frigid boy from yesterday.

"Silent huh?" A sick glare was shot her way as a single tear began to slip from her eye.

"I..." It only took one hard fist against her right jaw for her to be sent hurdling and whimpering to the floor in pain.

"Pathetic" he stretched out his fingers, watching the hurting woman cup her aching cheek while blood drizzled down her nostrils and mouth.

"You're making a mess, Agie" he sneered coldly at her. Her eyes bore a grave expression as tears and more tears streamed down her face, mixing with the trails of red.

"Now I would love to leave you like this but I have to respect sir's number three rule" he suddenly fished out the weapon from his pants before going down on one knee before the quaking and bleeding woman.

"Always clean up your messes" he whispered sweetly, taking up the gun and pointing it at her head.

At the office, the man's departure had left  both men frozen and the atmosphere tense. The news had taken a significant toll on Colton and his friend knew.

"Colton" he tried to snap the younger man out of the trance but he was momentarily unresponsive.

"Colt" he tapped on his shoulder now making him blink. Acker could've sworn that he saw a tear glisten in the light but he shrugged it off.

"I have to go see him, Ack" he stated desperately. Desperation, one of Colton's rarest emotions.

"I understand" Acker had no say in the matter. As much as he wanted Colton to forget, it was near to impossible at this point.

"Now, Acker" he nodded, watching as Colton was already getting up and then he noticed a slight glisten again, this time, the tear slipped.

Colton was quick to wipe all evidences of his emotions from his face but his flustered cheeks were giving him away. Acker was worried but he'd swore on his life never to let his friend deal with any of it alone. Never again.
