when the sun set and the moon began its journey up and into the sky, i took it upon myself to hide away from my people. i roamed the streets of polis, heading towards what remained of the tower. there was something that i needed to find before we'd leave. i climbed my way to the top of the wreckage, searching for any sign of them .

i lift a large piece of wood to find more debit. everything that i didn't want to find. settling, i fly the wood off to the side, slamming my hands against broken pieces of concrete. "ugh!" it isn't here, at least from what i could see. probably hidden far beneath the piles of concrete.

"what's got you all riled up?" bellamy's voice disrupted my silence, the sound of his sarcastic voice causing me to tense up.

i took a few deep breaths, feeling my heart beat faster. "what has me riled up as you'd say is this!" i kick at a wooden board, keeping my back turned to bellamy. my chest and shoulders rose and fell while i stood atop the debris. "this place..this city was once mine and my people's home. polis was my home and now..it's broken and buried. all of it, it's all buried!" bellamy doesn't respond.

as i continue to wallow in my anger, a familiar piece of wood and fabric catches my attention. i kneel down to pick it up. my hands shake as i grip tightly onto the decaying wood. i'm whisked into a state of longing and saudade. tears build up and blur my vision.

this is what was left of her throne.

one lone tear falls onto the piece of wood in my grasp. letting out a breath, i swung the piece against a piece of concrete. the remainder of the once glorious throne of my late sister was broken to bits, nothing but chips of wood now.

before i could rip apart the fabric, bellamy's warm hand grips onto my wrist. the sky man faces me, meeting my heated glare. tears spewed from my eyes, only making me feel more sensitive than i already looked. i turn away from him, crossing my arms over my chest. my chest heaves, as i try to fight off the need to cry my heart out.

my glassy eyes watched the moon continue it's journey up towards its apex. bellamy pulled me into his arms, his front to my back. he kept quiet to give me a moment to breathe. his chin rested on my right shoulder, watching the stars twinkle in the sky. wrapped up in bellamy's warm embrace made me feel safe. it did lots to calm me.

"what were you looking for?" bellamy speaks up, breaking the silence again. i shrug, as he wipes away a few tears. "come on, angel. it's time to get pass this cover up of yours." he smiles, making me chuckle.

i bite my lip, looking off into the distance. my hands fiddle and shake. "lexa's weapons were left in the throne room before praimfaya." gulping, i feel myself begin to shake again. my lip quivers, as i think back on it. "a-and i can't find it." my voice cracks on the last sentence. "it was left h-here."

bellamy turns me towards him without another word. i sob into his shoulder, letting out my pent up self loathing. i'd failed lexa again. her weapons were gone. all i seemed to be doing was failing my sister every chance i got. "i know that it was just a pair of weapons, but they were 𝘩𝘦𝘳 pair of weapons." i shrugged, clutching onto bellamy tightly. "they were hers and that's what made them so important." i sniffled, wiping away each tear.

bellamy pulled away, placing both hands on each side of my face. "you're her sister. you have that to hold onto, eclipsa. you have your memories with her, both good and bad." he lectured, caressing my cheek. i smile up into his big brown eyes.

"did i mention..h-how much i've missed you?" my eyes twinkle with happiness, as does his. bellamy's bright and inviting smile is a welcoming sight. it brings me some sort of comfort and safety to see him react to my words in such a way.

bellamy smirks, pulling me flush against him with his fingers clamped onto my hips. i gasp in surprise at the close proximity now. my eyes flutter down to the sky boy's lips with need. it seems that bellamy caught on and leaned in close to me. my heart skips a beat again, as i seem to hold my breath. when his lips touch mine, i feel the sparks.

i deepen the kiss by wrapping my arms around his neck and standing on my tippy toes. caught in the moment, i run my fingers through bellamy's long locks and pull slightly at the ends. i couldn't help but smirk when i heard the barely audible moan that he let fall from his lips.

this moment right here..it felt right.
