《(Y/n)'s P.O.V.》

Soulmates?! Is Nightmare seriously into that kind of stuff?! That just took a really sharp turn there. The villain here wants to know about soulmates. He MUST be hiding something!

"U-um...Well I gotta go now!" Nightmare said quickly, grinning.

Before I could really reply, he was gone. Poof. Just like that.

But...will I ever see him again? I thought to myself. For some reason, thinking this made me shrink in sadness.

"Are ya gonna look for some books? Or just stand there...?" Said a voice. It wasn't calming, like the librarian's. It sounded...mean.

I quickly turned around to the voice and saw a gal with long, blonde hair. She had this little grin that would get any guy to fall for her. It was Taylor Jones, who was friends with Danika. But where WAS Danika?

"I'm here alone, honey," she said. Okay, she acts nice when she's alone, but that doesn't change the fact that she has the personality of an angry wasp. Gorgeous to some, but aggressive, stubborn, and will do whatever it takes to protect someone.

I nervously smiled, and slowly walked backwards. I just really needed to get home right now. Well...not really home, just the orphanage I have to go to.

"S-sorry, I don't have time to s-sit and chat..." I whispered. She frowned and I heard a growl.

"Okay, bye. I hope to never see your little face here again," she muttered. Ouch. I think I need some bleach to throw at her. WELP, there is none at the library, so BYEEE.

I walked out the front doors of the library. On the sidewalk, I tripped on some darn rock that was in my way. I fell on my face, being the clutz I am. I sat up straight, rubbing my left eye. If I had a mirror with me, I'd know that there was a giant bruise there.

Alex is gonna kill me...I thought miserably. Just in case you didn't know, Alex is the head staff at the orphanage. He's mean.

I got up and looked around. The people didn't notice me; they just continued vrooming around in their cars, or walking past each other and minding their own business.

I sighed and looked up at the sky. The clouds basically were giants hogging the vast sky, and the blue part was barely visible. The air smelled fresh, and it seemed it was about to rain.

I snatched a random scooter from someone and rode away. The kid was crying, and I felt bad. But I needed to get "home."

I parked the scooter next to the rail and walked up the cold, bland stairs. I shakily lifted my hand, holding it to the door. I quickly knocked and then put my hands behind my back.

The door slightly creaked open, and out peered a mean Cassandra. "You're late!! Where have you been?!" She screeched. I could feel myself sweating.

"You're bleeding!" She gasped. She wasn't surprised, though. She grabbed me by the arm and pulled me inside. "Get!" She hissed.

She threw me onto the floor, and my eyes were wide.

"P-please let me explain!" My hands cowered in front of my face in fear of what she'll do to me.

"No, I don't want to hear it. Go to your room while I get Alex!" She snapped.

I whimpered and got up, limping to my room. On the way, the other kids blandly stared at me.

I closed the door and jumped on my bed. I sat there, thinking of what else could have gone wrong.

The way she looked at me, though. Her eyes were filled with hatred, and bitter cold! They showed no kindness whatsoever!
