Gideon wanted off of the plane. They had been sitting for over 40 minutes waiting to de-plane and her bladder was now screaming. Thankfully, the door to the fuselage finally opened, fresh outside air flooding the cabin. Gideon stood and made her way to the door after the way became clear, smiling and thanking the flight attendants on her way out.  Down the jet bridge and into the terminal, her eyes quickly scanned the immediate area for a bathroom. She was glad she packed light with only a backpack. After applying for a job that her friend Kenji had told her about, and flying to Japan for the rigorous interview process, they offered her the position.  Once she accepted the job, Gideon flew back to complete the final interview and make sure she had living arrangements in order.

Gideon had no issues with navigating around Tokyo or Japan. She had been born in Tokyo and grew up there until she was 18. She felt comfortable with not only the culture but the language. A part of her missed the busy city; there was always something happening and things to do. She left as a teenager to pursue a degree in not only international business but engineering. She returned every year to visit her step-dad and friends. Her step-dad was the successful businessman and real estate developer Jun Okada. Gideon's real father passed away when she was just a baby. Her mom remained in Japan and married Mr. Okada but they later separated and her mom returned to the States, leaving Gideon with her step-dad. To her, he was her father and he treated her like his own daughter. He even officially adopted her when she was only 2, at which point her last name was changed from McNabb to Okada.

Speaking of friends, her good friends Kenji, Rei and Keiko all had jobs at the office she would be working at. Kenji was the one to tell her about the job opening as he thought she would be perfect for it. She couldn't wait to see them or get settled into her new place. Rei and Keiko offered to help her with shopping tomorrow for things she needed. Gideon could relax a bit as the apartment she found came nicely furnished, close to stores she needed and the metro station.

After a quick stop at the bathroom, she made her way to the lower level of the terminal. She was  trying to contact her friend Kenji to pick her up so the two could meet up with the others to eat. It was Friday, so she would have 2 days to settle and get ready for work on Monday. Calling Kenji, he quickly answered. As Gideon spoke in Japanese others gave her looks or pointed. She was so used to being stared at and whispered about that she didn't notice most of it. Making her way out of the airport she inhaled the Tokyo air.

Looking around for Kenji, she accidentally bumped into an older and very handsome man. She politely apologized to him in Japanese.  Catching his gaze, she flashed a beautiful smile, bowed once again and continued looking for her friend.

"Gigi! Gigi!" She turned and saw Kenji waving for her. As she walked over to him, she glanced back and saw that the older man was still looking at her. She smiled at him again before turning her attention to her friend.
