"You'll do just fine dear. He...He was just surprised to finally 'see' you." Her dad didn't have to explain as Gideon already knew what he meant, plus there was a picture of the two of them on his desk from her college graduation. The two were used to the weird looks and questions they always got when he introduced her as his daughter or when she introduced him as her dad. They were proud to call themselves father and daughter.
Mr. Okada had taught Gideon from an early age to be proud of how she looked and of what she was. That her body and color was a gift from her ancestors. She was beautiful. With a sharp wit and tongue, she had grown into a confident and strong-willed woman. Even though her dad was an Alpha, he made sure she could defend herself. Gideon was very proficient in martial arts. Mr. Okada instilled that having a strong body was just as important as having a strong mind as the two often trained together. Her dad even asked an Elder Omega to teach Gideon how to mask her scent as another form of protection. Being a special Omega, Alphas did not intimidate her. Mr. Okada was very proud of her.
"Well, at least he laughed about it." Gideon gave her dad a devilish smirk.
"He laughed?" Now this Mr. Okada found interesting as Sanada hardly showed any emotion towards anyone. Most people thought he was an arrogant asshole. He was very direct and most people considered him to be rather rude.
"Yeah... he smiled, which he has a gorgeous smile by the way and chuckled when I told him I'd take him to dinner. Please Universe! No more run-ins with my new boss till Monday. Please!"
"Gideon, your whining." Mr. Okada was being serious now.
"I know." Gideon took a deep sigh and was over it. "Ok! I'm over it. I'll deal with the fallout on Monday."
"So, do you have a place to stay yet?"
"Actually dad, I flew back 2 weeks ago after I had finalized the new job. Kenji helped me find a place. I brought most of my stuff with me then, it was just a large suitcase. I sold everything else back in the States. I just have clothes, a few keepsakes and my electronics."
"Sneaky, Gideon, very sneaky. Good!"
"Well dad, I'm going to head home. Rei and Keiko are taking me shopping tomorrow for stuff for the apartment."
"Sounds good, I'll call you later on and we can go out to dinner."
"Ok, see you soon dad." Gideon gave her dad a hug and her new address before leaving. On the way out she hugged Ms. Fujimoto and made her way out of the building.
