Monday came early and Gideon was up by 5:30a; she wanted to get to the office to prepare everything she needed to meet with the Americans.  She thought that having to conduct a meeting on her first day was a bit much but she could handle it.  Gideon opted for something vintage, yet professional to wear for her first day.  She wanted to be comfortable so her hair was braided and the ends wrapped in a bun.  She kept her perfume and make-up to a minimum.   Kenji had worked it out with HR that he would get her settled into her new office, which was conveniently next to Mr. Sanada's.  Kenji would be by at 7 am to pick her up since her apartment was on the way to work.  She told Kenji she wanted to be in the office by 7:30 to complete everything and get accustomed to the meeting room.  She also wanted to make sure things were in order to talk to Mr. Sanada beforehand.  She already knew what she wanted to say to him.

As promised, Kenji was there at 7am on the dot.   Gideon had offered to take him out to lunch for picking her up.  After today, she would take the metro bus to work, there was a stop right outside the office. She didn't know what her schedule would be like working so closely with Sanada and didn't feel comfortable having Kenji wait around for her if she had to work late.

Arriving at the office, Kenji parked in his usual spot and the two made their way inside.  They stopped at security first to get Gideon her employee and entrance badges.  These she had to wear at all times while in the building, the security badge was her key to enter.  Kenji showed her around the lobby as the two walked towards the elevator.   Before the door closed, they heard yells to hold the door.  It was Rei and Keiko.  The three women all hugged each other as they chatted on the way to their floor.

Gideon was glad that they all worked together but knew she wouldn't have much time to socialize as the three had warned her that Sanada kept a demanding schedule and was always on the go.  Reaching their floor, they all showed her around and introduced her to everyone that was there.  Her co-workers were amazed at how well she spoke Japanese.  She only told people her first Name and kept her badges turned around.   For now, she wanted people to be aware of her and not her dad.  The last person they introduced Gideon to was the one they had warned her about.  Aya Kaiba.

Gideon sensed she was an Alpha, and immediately saw that she carried the cocky, condescending attitude that most Alpha's had.  It was fine, Gideon was used to it and knew exactly how to deal with it, both professionally and otherwise.  Aya just gave a fake smile and walked off without saying anything.

It was 7:45,  Gideon wanted to head to her office and get it set up, then make her way to the conference room.  Kenji was called to help with something so Keiko offered to help Gideon get settled.  After the two got her everything she needed for her office from the supply room, Keiko showed her the conference room.  Gideon was glad that it was clean and had a nice A/V set up.   She asked if she would have to do the refreshments or if there was someone else that did that.  Keiko gave her a weird look.

"You guys don't do refreshments here for your meetings?"

"No, we have the stuff for it, it's just that no one bothers with any of that."

"Oh no, that will change, show me where the stuff is at."  Keiko looked surprised and took Gideon to the break area.  Being aware of the time, they got started.  Keiko helped her wash everything and set up a space in the conference room with cups for both coffee and water.  Gideon searched through the cabinets and found some coffee, luckily it was still fresh so she started 2 pots.  They were meeting with Americans and she knew how much their loved their coffee and ice water.  Seeing there was no ice, Gideon asked Keiko if they had some at the cafe in the lobby area.  She said they did; Gideon asked if they would deliver stuff to the office.

"I don't know no one has ever asked."

Gideon chuckled and checked the time.  It was 8am.  "Keiko, will you call down there and ask for a bag of ice and a tray of assorted pastries, let me know when it gets here, I'll pay for it."  Kieko smiled and went to call the cafe.

With the rich aroma of coffee was filling the office, others made their way to the break area.

"Are you making coffee?"  One guy was shocked.

"Yes, it's for a meeting this morning.  I will make an extra pot for those in the office, just give me a minute."  The guy smiled and walked off.   Gideon took water pitchers to the conference room and set the table.  She was told that there would be 5 for the meeting.  The table had room for 7 so she set the whole table, in case they brought extra people.  Napkin, coasters, water glass and coffee mugs.  It was 8:10 when Keiko let her know her order from the cafe had arrived.

Gideon hurried to her office and grabbed her bag to pay for the items.  Everyone stared as the tray of pastries was carried to the conference room.  Gideon filled the coffee carafes and carried them to the conference room also. With everything set for the meeting, she checked the time.  She had 15 minutes before she was to meet with Sanada.  Heading to the break room she put on an extra pot of coffee for the office staff as promised.  Walking through the office she found the guy that wanted coffee and let him know a fresh pot was almost ready.  What Gideon didn't know was that Sanada was already in the office, and one of the senior members filled him in on the new employee and how the office was already warming up to her.  The two men walked back to the conference room to see how it had been prepared for the meeting.  Sanada smirked but didn't say anything, turning, he walked back to his office.

With things all set for the meeting, Gideon went to her office to chill and gather her thoughts for a moment.  Grabbing her laptop she headed over to Mr. Sanada's office.
