3 - Surprise!!*

Thirty minutes later, Ms. Fujimoto texted Gideon that her dad was now free.  Gideon quickly started down the hall towards his office running into the unknown man yet again.  This time she decided to have a bit of fun with him.   She simply couldn't resist as he was very handsome, and a little flirting never hurt. 

"Third times a charm I see."  She flashed him her killer smile again.

He stopped briefly in the hallway to talk to her. "So it seems."  This time he returned her smile.  The hook was set.

"The Universe keeps bringing us together today for some reason.  Next time we meet, you must allow me to take you out to dinner!"  With that Gideon gave him a mischievous smile and headed towards her dad's office before he could give her a reply.  She could hear the man chuckle as he waited for the elevator.

Entering her dad's office, Ms. Fujimoto signaled her to go on in.  

Gideon quietly walked into the massive office.  Both of the outer walls were nothing but windows, giving the occupant a gorgeous view of the city; her dad had his back to the door as he talked on the phone.  She approached his desk but remained silent.  Once he had ended the call, she pounced.

"SURPRISE!!"  

Mr. Okada turned, a huge smile appearing on his face, he quickly made his way around his desk to hug his daughter.

"Gigi!  What are you doing here?  Oh, it's so good to see you!"

"I missed you dad!"  The two hugged each other for a few minutes.  To others, Mr. Okada was an intimidating figure.  The older Alpha always immediately commanded respect whenever he walked into a room.  To Gideon, he was just a big softy and her dad.

"Guess what dad?"  She was excited to tell him her big news.

"What is it hon?"

"I moved back to Tokyo!  I got a job!"

Mr. Okada went in for another hug.  "Oh!  That's wonderful.  Sit, sit, fill me in!  I'm so glad you moved back. But wait...have you heard from your mother?"

Gideon's excitement dwindle a little.  After her mom had left, contact with her was very sporadic.  But it's something that Gideon had gotten used to.  Her mom had her own life now, besides Gideon had her dad who had always been there for her and that's all that mattered.  

"No, I haven't.  It's ok."

Mr. Okada smiled, he knew it pained his daughter but there was nothing either of them could do about it.  

"Now Gigi! Tell me about your new job!"

"It's with the Sanada Corporation, I'm a translator and the assistant to Sanada-san."

Mr. Okada smiled, then laughed.  "You know, Sanada-san was just here asking about you."

"What!?!  Oh God dad!  Please tell me the handsome guy I passed by at the elevator wasn't him."  Gideon felt herself getting sick to her stomach as her palms started getting sweaty.

"Yes, as a matter of fact it was.  Did you get to talk to him?"

Gideon felt whatever melanin she had, just drained out of her as her head landed with a loud thud on her dad's desk.

"Shit..."

"Gideon, my dear, what's wrong?"

"Dad... I just made an ass of myself.  Ugggh!"

Mr. Okada had to laugh.  "Calm down dear, tell me what happened."

"This is the 3rd time I've ran into him today.   First was at the airport, then the elevator on the way up here and I passed him in the hall again so....God I can't believe I said that to him!"  Gideon was about to have a breakdown as she fake cried.  Her dad continued to laugh at her.

"Dad!  It's not funny.  I just flirted with my future boss!"  Mr. Okada burst out laughing causing Ms. Fujimoto to come in and see what was going on. 

"What's going on you two?"

"I'm an idiot Ms. Fujimoto...."  Gideon was pouting like a little kid.  

"Tell me what you said Gigi."   Her dad managed to stop laughing as he wiped the tears from his eyes.

"I told him since the Universe keeps bringing us together that if we met again, I would take him out to dinner.   Me and my big fat mouth!" 

Now her dad and Ms. F were both laughing at her.  Gideon just wanted the chair she was sitting in to swallow her up.  But that never happens. 

"That's excellent!"  Ms. F response shocked Gideon.

"No! No it isn't!  He's my new boss Ms. F."

"So!  You should do it!"  

"You two are no help!  Wait, he was here asking about me?  What did he say?"

Ms. F patted Gideon on the shoulder as she returned to her desk.  Her dad cleared his throat and settled into his chair, trying to maintain a serious face without laughing. 

"He wanted to know if I was familiar with a Gideon Okada.   He said they had just hired 'him'  to be his assistant and a translator." 

"So he comes here to ask about me, but can't even interview me himself?  Ok...go on."

"I told him I was and that you were one of the best at what you did and... that you were my daughter, not son."  

"I am so dead on Monday..."  Again, Gideon's head contacted her dad's desk, hard.  With a deep sigh she forced a response.   "Thanks dad.  Well.  Looks like I'm taking my new boss out for dinner on Monday!"
