Ten steps

Daniel's POV

Y/n has been avoiding me lately and going out more than usual. I didn't think about it until someone sent me a video.

I looked at the video and it was y/n kissing a guy in a bar.

"Why would she do this."

Tears started to form in my eyes and my heart just shattered into a million pieces. I thought she loved me but I guess I was wrong.

I didn't want to talk about it with y/n today so I just thought about going to the beach to think.

I got ready and just in case y/n came over early I put a note on the bed.

I walked out of the house and drove to the beach.

Y/n's POV

I got home early and wanted to surprise Daniel to spend some quality time together.

I got inside the house and went to our room to see no Dani.

I got closer to the bed and saw a note.

Y/n if your reading this don't look for me, I just needed some time to think about something.

"Oh my gosh"

"Daniel knows"

I quickly got into the car and drove to the exact spot where Daniel would be thinking.

I got to the beach and quickly got out.

All the memories then hit me like a truck. Out first kiss, date, I love you's and many more.

"Why did I do it in the first place." I whispered to myself.

I kept searching for him and saw him sitting on a rock.

I looked at him and couldn't help but feel guilty that I did this to him.

"Daniel." I whispered thinking he wouldn't hear me.

But he did.

He looked at my direction and looked he has been crying and I couldn't help but tear up.

I walked closer but he stepped one foot back.

"Why would you cheat on me."
He said in the verge to breakdown.

"I-i" I didn't want to hurt his feelings even more with the explanation so I just stayed quite.

"What y/n, give me a reason."

"I don't want to hurt you even more Daniel by saying the explanation."I walked closer.

"What do you mean you don't want to hurt me you already hurt me." He said through sobs.

We were now separated with a decent space between us.

"You really want to know."

He just nodded.

"I-it's because I feel like you didn't care abo-"

"Me not caring about you that's impossible." He cutted me off.

"I wasn't finish Daniel."

He nodded for me to proceed.

"I felt like you didn't care about me because of your work. Everyday we're slowly growing more distance and it hurts. I felt like.... your slowly losing love for me like how I was. I wanted and needed someone to love me to have someone there for me, but you were always on tour or at the studio."

"I'm sorry." He said with his head down.

"And Liam was there when you weren't Daniel, I'm sorry." I said with tears falling in my cheeks.

Daniel came closer and told me something.

"You can have the decision if you want to stay with me or with Liam." He said looking at me straight in the eyes.

"You can walk out of the beach with 10 steps and think about our memories or 10 steps back to me to think about the memories with you and Liam." He instructed me.

"But remember if you chose him and he breaks your heart I have my arms and heart open for you." He added with a smile and a tear slip.

I nodded.

I walked away from him and took the first step I remembered meeting him here and having my first genuine smile for a long time.

Second step our first date

Third step out First kiss

4th step I remembered how he asked me to be my his.

5th..

By now I wasn't even thinking about the steps all I thought about was how I wouldnt wake up next to him, how I wouldn't kiss his soft lips. How we wouldn't change I love you's.

10th step and I completely changed my mind about going back to Liam and run to Daniel.

I didn't even think about the memories I had with Liam all I cared was Daniel.

I run to his arms and hugged him so tight.

"I'm so sorry Daniel. I love you too much to let go and I understand if you don't want me back because I cheated." I said crying in his chest.

"It's alright I understand and as I said I will always have and open heart and arms for you to love me again."

He said then kissed passionately lime it was the first time again."
