Chapter eight - The Cabin

Both of you finally got up and stopped laughing, you smiled. Inosuke went up to the door and you followed, he..... kicked the door down....

And snickered

He went in,
"Y-you uh... okay"You tried to say, you decided to forget about it and move on.

You followed after him.

The house was empty and clean for an odd reason, the outside looked like it hadn't been touched in years. You wandered around, no cobwebs or anything.....
*weird....*

You went to the kitchen where Inosuke already was, you turned on the faucet and it worked-

*even weirder....*

You wandered down a hall and Inosuke followed you, sticking his head into every room. So far nothing too unusual....

You walked into a room with a closet and a double bed, accompanied by a desk, it was a pretty boring room over all. You liked around for anything that could lead to a what a Yokai was.

Nothing.

You looked out the window and noticed it was getting really cloudy quickly, it was darkening the sky.

You heard footsteps, you turned around quickly.

It was only Inosuke-

You were so paranoid you were scaring yourself, you needed to calm down.

You stepped out of the room to go to another, then you heard the footsteps again. You brushed it off thinking it was Inosuke again.

But then you heard the door open, your ears twitched.

That wasn't Inosuke.

You looked over at him and grabbed his arm he was about to shout before you put a hand on your lips to signal, quiet.

He, surprisingly, listened for once. You ran into the room and looked around.

*We need to hide somewhere!-*

You looked at the closet and decided it was good enough, you pulled yourself and him inside.

It was a tight squeeze, Inosuke had his swords out but, luckily, they weren't stabbing you or anything.

You closed the door silently, but you didn't let go of his hand. He only held one sword as you held his other hand.

You heard the footsteps come inside and then the door close.

Sniff

Sniff

"What's that I smell?" The girl giggled, 
" A Yokai and a human?"

"How fun," A boy said,

"You stole my line!" The girl complained,

He chuckled, "Guess I did, now let's hurry up and finish them off, I'm getting bored,"

You gulped, was this the end?

You looked at Inosuke. He didn't looked scared or worried, he looked excited.

You trusted him and him being like this gave you hope.

*Everything's going to be alright,* You calmed yourself,

The girl giggled "Come out, come out wherever you are!"

You could hear them stepping around the room,

You held Inosukes hand tighter, you felt him squeeze back. You both stared at the closet door,

*They can smell us so we are going to be found..... but he'll protect me right?*

He would protect you, you knew that. Yet you were still scared, you were shaking a little,

*Two demons... could he really defeat two?!*

*Would he get hurt because of me? Is this my fault?*

These thoughts filled your head, until Inosuke pulled you onto him. You felt your face redden but you hoped the darkness would hide it. He held you to his chest, you calmed down a little.

His warmth was soothing, you felt safe.

You heard another door open, but you weren't as scared this time, you were prepared.

All the doors opened besides this one, it was a long pause.

Then you heard it open
