Third Person's POV

"...and she was the best, forever and always." Luna whispered, feeling the tears coming once again. She sniffed and wipe her tears away but they wouldn't stop flowing.

She stifled a sob and turned her back to everyone as she tried to stay as quiet as possible, not wanting to break down in front of all the people who came.

But sometimes you just can't help it, because when it hurts so much you can only cry it all out. Luna felt weak and crouched down, sobbing and covering her mouth.

Someone placed a hand on her shoulder and gently pulled her up, guiding her to the chairs so she can calm down. Luna couldn't stop crying anymore, it was as if her tear sockets had broken and kept pouring waterfalls.

Some felt pity for her as they listened to her sobs, some felt as broken as her while they look away because they couldn't bear to watch her cry. Because Madeline was so lovely, it was so painful.

Unlike their mournfulness, the sky was blue and bright. If everyone was silent, they could hear birds chirping and feel the soft wind blowing. It was as if the sky wasn't mourning for a loss. It was as if life just carried on.

For Luna, time stopped. Even though things escalated quickly, she had a hard time processing everything. For her, time was running yet she was just taking a stroll. It was so hard to breath for her that she just had to stop moving, maybe just for a while.

The day Madeline was buried, Luna felt a piece of her that went along with Madeline.

"Is this the place?"

"Yeah." Luna pursed her lips, she felt weird. She wasn't sad or empty again, she just felt like she had so much to tell Madeline.

Madeline was buried in the outskirts of Seoul, a cemetery that was so quiet it was as if it was deserted. The place was surrounded by trees, a lot of graves were just scattered around but always with a path leading to one. Luna felt like it was a good place for her former lover.

Although Madeline was half Canadian and half Japanese, she was the same as Luna, moving to the Philippines to study. The both of them met during the start of college and became instant friends, while Luna found Madeline's beauty mesmerizing, it was her personality that made Luna fell for her.

Both of them spent so much time together as friends, it took Luna more than a year to finally ask her out, to which Madeline replied with a yes. They learned languages together and travelled together. Madeline studied architecture and interior design, while Luna studied psychology.

But after graduating and traveling to Korea together, Luna noticed the changes. Always tired and pale, suddenly having bruises and feeling dizzy, she thought it was just fatigue or anemia. It broke her so much to learn it was Leukemia.

They were together for more than four years, so it was really devastating and miserable for the both of them. Madeline tried to be hopeful while Luna tried her best to be there for her. But it was so hard for Luna whenever she heard Madeline crying alone or vomiting in the bathroom. Sometimes Madeline would suddenly have nosebleeds or random bruises, Luna would always ask if she wanted to go to the hospital but Madeline would insist that she was fine.

Most of the time she would have fevers that kept her up all night. Luna would stay at home with her even though Madeline tried to convince her she was fine. The trips to the hospital became frequent and it went on for a year, it was so hard for Luna to focus on her license exams but she passed nonetheless and with great results too. Those times were when Luna's stress reliever was to study all day and night, it was easy for her because of insomnia.
