This might actually be fun.

The adults continue explaining how in order to win we need to either place handcuffs on our opponents wrists or ankles, or we need to run to the exit to 'call for help'. We have to choose and succeed before the time limit runs out. They also mention that all the teachers will have weights bound to themselves equaling half their body weight. This at least gives us a chance to win against them.

I quickly realize Kirishima and I are at a disadvantage since we don't have the ability to study other groups or have extra time to plan, but this phases neither of us as we understand real heroes often don't have those privileges.

A few minutes later, Kiri and I are pushed into the fighting arena. We start running in a chosen direction and the red-haired shark boy begins talking to me, "For this exam, we'll definitely get a higher score by capturing rather than running, right?"

I think for a moment before shaking my head. "Not necessarily. Although it's true it may look better if we fight and win, it won't be worth it if we go up against something we can't win against. It's better to run and win then to fight and lose." I glance to my side to see him thinking as we continue running. "Not to say we shouldn't fight, but we should keep in mind there are options."

"Then which should we do?"

"I think we should-" I'm cut off by a huge slab of cement spiking up from the ground in front of me. I jump back and away to dodge. "KIRISHIMA! YOU OKAY?" I shout out through the rubble of the blast.

"I'm all good!" He yells back and as the dust clears I see him standing with his arms crossed in front of himself for protection.

I let out a sigh of relief at his safety and fiddle with the wrist accessory bound to my lower forearm. My support gear is fastened tightly, but comfortably, around my hand, ready if I need to use it.

Another loud blast directs my attention to in front of me where a large wall of concrete is growing taller while also growing closer. Realizing I have no place to go, I run towards a building to my left and build enough momentum to run up the side of the building before I get high enough to vault over the concrete that's directly in front of me.

I land on the ground with a roll and when I look up, I'm finally able to see our attacker.

Mr. Cementoss is crouching with his weighted-down hands pressed against the cement city ground.

He's going to be difficult to defeat... especially with the Quirks we're going against him with. Kirishima can only last so long, and after a while I'll overheat and pass-out too; in contrast, Mr. Cementoss doesn't have a time limit, at least I don't think.

I dodge another attack aimed at me and run through the broken ground over to where Kirishima is standing around the corner of a nearby building. "Kirishima! Listen, I don't think we can beat him. Not in this terrain and with the way it's going now. I say we run and just try to pass this."

He sighs and lets his head fall against the building. I notice he's panting and has scratches all over him, especially on his arms where he blocked most of the attacks. "Yeah. Okay..."

We quickly speak through a plan to get both of us to the exit on time.

"Ready?" I ask.

"Ready!"
