She heard her father talking to someone. And what really caught her attention was the fondness in his voice while talking.

That's weird because he never sound that easygoing kapag kausap sila. He always talk to them with firmness and finality.

She angled herself towards the library to hear them better.

"So how do you find the people here so far?"

"They are all nice." Came the baritone voice that made her frown.

Who is her father talking to?

"I'm glad to hear that. Tell me if you're having a hard time, alright? Our priority is your full recovery."

Most importantly, when did her father became this nice to a complete estranger?

"Thank you, señor."

"Don't think about it. Oh before I leave, I want to tell you that my daughter just arrived yesterday. You two will meet later. She's probably still sleeping due to jet lag."

Hinihintay niyang sabihin nito ang nangyaring engkwentro nila kagabi pero wala siyang narinig mula dito.

"Paano, I'll leave you with manang Flora. I have an important meeting to attend to. I'll see you tonight."

"Yes, señor."

Her father chuckled.

Basta marahan. More like 'maingat'. Yeah that's it, maingat.

He looks like... Wait, is he...

She cleared her throat.

He looked at her straight in the eyes.

If he is what I think he is, then how did he immediately know where to look at the moment she made a noise?

"Your father just left." His baritone voice penetrated her thoughts.

Muli siyang nag-angat ng tingin dito. She's already tall but he's taller. Looking at him this close in the light of day, masasabi niyang he changed a lot. He's skin color is not that pale anymore. Mas nakikita na ang kayumangging kulay nito. Nagkalaman na din ito. He's not the bulky nor the lanky type. In fact, he has that  body built that complemented his height-- Slim but toned and proportioned in all the right places. He's also a bit taller compared to her brother. Dahil siguro nasa lahi nito. And speaking of lahi, he looked half middle eastern pero ang accent nito ay american.

"Are you waiting for him?"

That snapped her out her scrutinizing mind. Ipinilig niya ang ulo. Bakit ba niya iniisa isa ang features nito? Tsk..
