☹☹☹

Today was the first day of rehearsals. Before heading my way out, I checked myself in the mirror. I didn't want to overdress but I still wanted to give off a good first impression (even if I already met them during my audition).

I was wearing a pale blue short sleeved turtleneck and black tattered high waist mom jeans with my usual chain attached to the belt loops paired with my go-to black boots.

I styled my shoulder length dark hair into a low ponytail with my hair parted in the middle. I wore my usual amount of make up which was just concealer and some lip gloss. I decided I looked sufficient and grabbed my backpack and bass guitar.

I headed out the door only to be met with another envelope that had the same eviction notice written in it.

I almost forgot about that. I still don't have enough money though...

I sigh as I pinch the bridge of my nose. I place the letter on my bedside table along with the two other letters with the same contents on it, and finally head out.

Once I arrived at the venue we were supposed to rehearse, I was greeted by Christine waving at me from the building's entrance. She had a huge smile painted on her lips as she watched me get out of my car and hugged me.

"I'm so excited to work with you again! And this time for a good number of months." she said in her usual bubbly tone. "Same thing with you! Can't wait to get to know everyone better." I said genuinely.

After our greeting exchange we wasted no time and immediately went inside the studio where we'd be rehearsing Conan's songs (which I listened to the night before, and boy am I impressed).

My eyes first land on Bianca who was tuning her drums who then waved at me once she noticed my presence, and then to Conan chatting with a girl I haven't met.

They seem to be close.

The curly haired boy did not notice my presence whatsoever so I stuck with Christine. "Oh right, I forgot to tell you about our new keyboard player as well. Liz, come here!" the girl Conan was previously chatting with was now walking her way towards us.

Her dirty blonde hair went on until her waist which was styled in a half ponytail. She had fair skin, and had deep blue eyes under her thick lashes and plump lips. Her face was covered in a lot of make up, but it suited her well.

She wore a tight fitting white shirt with a plaid yellow dress layered over it, paired with some white sneakers. In short, she looked perfect.

"Hi, I'm Elizabeth Cleeve. I prefer to be called Liz though, makes it sound less formal." she said as she made a curtsy in a joking manner. "Hi, I'm Prairie Taylor. I don't really have a nickname so there's that." I say and laugh softly, not bothering to mention that only Alisa and Mark call me by my nickname.

"Alright, now that everyone knows one another, why don't we start our rehearsals?" I hear a voice which turns out to be Conan's as he walks towards our direction. "You heard his majesty, let's get started!" Christine says, loud enough for everyone to hear.

We just finished our fourth day of rehearsals for the third week and I decided to resign my job at the diner.  Alisa was supportive of it and volunteered to help me pay my rent that was already overdue so I was very thankful for that.

The past three weeks have been a complete rollercoaster and let me tell you, everything was so awkward- at least only with Conan. Every time he tried to make eye contact with me I'd look away.

Knowing me, I'd only glare at him because I'm still not over him 'purposely' spilling his iced coffee on me. It went on like this for three weeks. I've gotten to know everyone in the group better, all except Conan.

We stan a problematic sister.

It was currently 10pm and I was in my bedroom, my legs sprawled out on the bed. Alisa enters my room and shoves my legs to the side of the bed, expecting something from me, like I was supposed to do a back flip right there.

"What?" I said as I scroll through my instagram. "What do you mean 'what'? Did you talk to him yet?" she asks like it was the most obvious thing in the entire world.

Here we go again.

Alisa has been asking me this for two weeks straight now, ever since she found out that I still didn't make up with Conan knowing I'd be cramped up with him in a tour bus about a week from now.

"I'm not apologizing until he does." I say to her as I cross my arms. "Young lady, your pride is higher than the Empire State building!" Alisa playfully says.

"You know very well what I'm going through, Lis." I say as I roll my eyes. "I know, I know... At least give him a chance. I promise he's not that bad." Alisa says as she pats my legs which were still sprawled out on my bed despite her many complaints.

"Alright, maybe I'll start by not giving him death glares every time he looks at me." I say. "Who knows, maybe he'll actually like you." Alisa said smirking, with an emphasis on the word 'like'.

"I have a fucking boyfriend, Lis!" I say to her as I feel my cheeks heating up, but quickly regain my composure. "Damn, I keep forgetting you have a boyfriend." Alisa said in between laughs. "Has anyone told you you're really funny?" I told her, my words dripping with sarcasm.

"Oh shut up, Taylor." she says with an eye roll. Soon after we burst into a fit of laughter and continued talking about anything and everything. Eventually we got drowsy and agreed that Alisa would stay for the night.

Just before I slept I logged on to my twitter and started scrolling since I haven't opened it for a while. One tweet caught my eye and saw that it was from Conan, saying "y'all i don't mean to sound cliche,,, but the tension is so thick u could cut it with a knife :,)"

I knew very well what he was talking about and started to feel bad, so I turn off my phone and eventually slept beside a snoring Alisa.

We had just finished our last song to be practiced and everyone was ecstatic. "Guys! We literally finished every single song and managed to still have one week left before the tour." I say in amazement.

"That's because we actually did our work instead of just sticking our phones in our face and tweeting every 15 seconds." Bianca sasses and looked at Conan who just responded with an eye roll. "You don't have to exaggerate y'know." he said as the rest of the group just laughed.

A few minutes later we parted ways and decided to give ourselves a rest day or two since we deserved it. Just before I opened my car door, a voice called my attention.

I look up to see none other than Conan himself, jogging towards me. He stopped in front of me and put his hands on his knees, panting slightly.

"Wait, I wanna talk to you."

☹☹☹

Oooh what's gonna happen???

God bless and hope y'all enjoyed this chapter!
