Beep!

I hear the machine produce the sound as I checked out from my shift. I took off my apron that I use for work and grabbed my backpack, exiting through the backdoor and heading out to my car.

'Rose Colored Boy' by Paramore plays in my earphones as I walk out of the building then into the parking lot, and see my vehicle in the distance, the sunlight reflecting off of it making it glimmer. I walked towards it, taking my time.

I open the car door and turn on my phone to play another song. I pressed shuffle and this time, 'Do You Wanna Do Nothing With Me' by Lawrence played and it instantly brightened up my mood.

I drove off to my new apartment which I got after earning enough money from my job and some freelance gigs. I opened the door and placed my bag on the floor, proceeding to the bedroom.

I changed into some comfortable clothes and let my hair down, now somewhat wavy from being in a bun. After changing I went to the kitchen to make some iced coffee.

To think I haven't gotten sick of coffee because of working in a cafe.

I sipped on the beverage I made and made my way back to my bedroom, planning to read some books and wind down. I went to the shelves and grabbed a book called Stardust written by Neil Gaiman.

It was currently 5:30pm and I didn't have any errands to run so I made the most of my free time. I sat on my bed, the mug of iced coffee placed on the bedside table, and read the book.

It's been months since the Sunset Season tour, and I had resigned from the band. Well, not really resign like I said before, but they allowed me to take a break due to my financial situation at the time.

I was currently working as a cashier at the coffee shop where it all started, when Christine asked me to audition for their band. It isn't really the best option, considering I'm still in the process of healing my emotional and mental state, but it was the only available job at the time.

Alisa helped me get my life back together of course. She helped me find a new and more affordable apartment. The one I'm currently living in was small, but it was enough space for one person, and Alisa and I both made it look cozy by putting some plants and wall decorations.

She still works at the diner, but it wasn't difficult to hang with her since I only lived a block away from her. Occasionally during her break from her shift, she'd visit the cafe, order some coffee and chat with me until I almost get caught.

I took a break from dating, although I went to programs to help with my trust issues with men, and some other programs for my emotional health and I was slowly getting better. In short, life was going uphill for me at best.

After an hour in of reading, I finally finished the book and closed it. I realized then that I had nothing else to do. I didn't wanna lay in bed so much, afraid of my very loud thoughts, so I grab my phone.

I play some music on shuffle and the first song that came on was unfamiliar to me but the voice singing said otherwise. I checked my phone to see the title, and saw that it was 'Wish You Were Sober'.

The vocals were awfully familiar, and somehow it made me uneasy, so I skipped it and played another song. Satisfied with the next song that played, I bopped my head to the music as I decide to text Alisa.
