☹☹☹
It's been two weeks since our first show, and we were currently on our way to Atlanta, Georgia. Ever since that... moment, I've been acting strange whenever Conan was around. And since we were roommates, I acted strange all the time.
We still weren't close to each other and I intend to keep it that way. But whenever he'd joke around and we'd accidentally have physical contact, whether our hands brushed against each other or whatever, I tend to have strange sensations all over my body.
I probably ate something weird yesterday.
That would always be my excuse. But now, I can't deny the fact that I'd get all jittery around him and it wasn't the food I ate that caused it.
Maybe I was just exhausted. Mark hasn't been calling me at all lately, and whenever I'd call Alisa to tell her about the shows, my issue with Mark would always come as a subject of all our conversations.
But like the hardheaded and stubborn dumbass I am, I still believed that Mark wouldn't do anything, despite lately not having any form of communication whatsoever.
It was currently around dinner time, and everyone in the group was gathered on the couch eating chips and some precooked meals we bought at convenient stores along the way.
I had already finished eating my food and sat on another couch, far from the group that was in a conversation. I didn't bother joining in so I just used my phone doing whatever the hell I wanted.
After minutes of scrolling through my socials, Alisa's caller ID appeared on the screen. I answered it and placed my phone near my ear and greeted her, "Hey Lis, what's up?"
"Prairs..." I hear her saddened voice on the other line. "Alisa, what's wrong? Did something bad happen?" I quickly ask her and sit up from the couch I was slouching on.
"I just got a letter from your landlord. And my mom needed the money so I couldn't—"
"It's okay, just tell me what happened." I cut her off.
"Prairie, you were evicted from your apartment."My heart sank. What am I supposed to do now? I couldn't just leave this tour and take care of it. I still didn't have enough money to pay the rent fully.
"I'm so sorry Prairs." Alisa said through the phone. "No no, it's okay Lis. It's totally okay to put your family first over some stupid rent." I say as tears start to well up in my eyes for what seemed like the thousandth time this month.
"If it makes you feel any better, all your things are with me at the moment. I'll take care of them." she tries to cheer me up.
"Thanks Lis, you're the best friend I could ask for." I say, trying to choke back a sob. "I have to go now, I need to get some rest."
"Alright hon, hope things'll get better for you." Alisa says and ends the call. I put my phone down and looked at the ground, tears threatening to spill from my now reddened eyes.
"Prairie, are you okay?" I hear Christine ask, concern evident in her voice. Bianca and the others had stopped talking as well, getting worried for me.
Instead of replying I stood up, not looking up to them, and immediately ran to my room. "Prairie, wait!" I hear Christine yell for me.
