"EEK!" Kaminari shrieked as the lightning instantly vanished right after Aizawa activated his quirk. You watched faintly as the red glint diminished while his hair fell right into place again. However, the veins bulging by the side of his temples were evident enough to make the kids fear for their lives. He was beyond furious, to say the least. It was your first time seeing him display such pure anger that it made you doubt that Kaminari was the cause of it.
"Everyone, back to class now!" He harshly instructed.
Their shoulders jumped in synchronisation when his yell pierced through the silence. The hairs on their arms were upright, but what horrified them more was when they realised your condition. Each of their faces turned pale as soon as they saw your fatigued body in Aizawa's arms. Kaminari was the first to approach but that only made Aizawa even furious. He clutched your shoulders like a tigress protecting its cubs from danger. Aizawa gave him a sharp glare before calling him out. Poor Kaminari was trembling from the thought of getting punished or worse, beaten to death by the Pro Hero, Eraser Head.
His fury made you wonder why he was so overprotective of you and cold towards Kaminari. Though the lightning triggered an unpleasant memory, it wasn't as if he did it on purpose to scare you. Aizawa made it seem like he was the villain who killed your mother.
"See me right after this," he said, slowly picking you up in a bridal style and leaving the scene.
One of his arms snaked under your legs while the other supported your back. As usual, his touch was very gentle as if he was carrying something fragile but a little tense, probably from the fact that he was trying to be careful of where he was touching you. For a moment, you panicked that your weight would burden him but he showed no signs of exhaustion. Even so, you were highly convinced that he was just masking it. After all, fried chicken was your number 1 best friend, particularly the drumsticks and thighs.
All that thought had veered you away from the trauma and before you knew it, you found yourself right in front of the nurse room. Aizawa took a step back before stretching out his leg and fitting the tip of his shoe into the concave handle. You watched amusingly as he slid the door open with his foot, resembling a particular Taekwondo pose.
He slid the door close again with his leg, this time pushing the surface. The room however was exceptionally silent. There was no sign of Recovery Girl or any other nurses. It felt like everything was planned perfectly just so you could talk to Aizawa about it. About how he knew your fear of lightning.
He gently placed you down on the cold white sheets of the bed, adjusting the pillow to your liking. He was like a mother figure that you never had since you were 5. But you still hated how he treated you like a kid.
Aizawa let out a sigh of relief before speaking,
"Rest up. You're allowed to go home for today. I'll phone your uncle to pick you up."
He gave you one last look before turning on his heel and walking away, not giving you a second to say thanks. Agitation began to kindle in your little heart. The timing, atmosphere, ambience, everything was perfect for you to finally speak up. There was no one to interrupt in the empty room so to see him slowly walking away like nothing happened aggravated you immensely. You felt like you were beyond the breaking point where it no longer saddens you anymore, but just completely irritates you to the bone. Smashing a vase and calling him a coward for running away seemed ideal for this situation.
You took whatever that was closest to you and hurled it at him with great force. With a loud smack, the pillow thwack his head perfectly from the back to render him immobile. The moment he stopped on his tracks was the moment you felt contented because that definitely made his blood boil. Even from his back, you could tell the kind of expression he was making. Oh if only there was something heavier and rock-hard , best believe you would have propelled that right to his skull.
