The rays of sunlight streaked in through the flapping white curtains, casting shadows on the walls. There was a strong odour of disinfectant gliding through the air accompanied by the shuffling sound of footsteps. Slowly, your eyes fluttered open to the familiar setting. It wasn't the school's infirmary rather, it was the hospital.

You rose from your bed quickly only to be reprimanded by a man's voice, "No, young woman. Stay in bed."

His strict voice immediately made your shoulders jump and eyebrows twitch. That was the voice of a policeman in duty.

"Uncle..?"

"You're finally awake huh? After 3 days," he sighed.

You blinked a few times before comprehending the entire situation, from the sports festival till the last moments you had before the blackout. All the memories flashed like a panorama in your head.

"Ah! That's right, Todoroki!! How is he? Where is he now? Is he okay?" you continuously bombarded him with questions.

"You're pretty energetic for someone who had just been burnt alive. Worry about yourself first, that boy is fine," Tsukauchi ruffled your bed hair as you heaved a sigh of relief.

From the side of your eyes, there was a luminous shade of pink that instantly grabbed your attention. Your eyes darted to the bouquet of flowers laying neatly on the table, right where the sunlight perfectly touches it.

"I'm flattered but, you didn't have to bring me a bouquet," you said blankly which made Tsukauchi chuckle.

"That's not from me. It wasn't there yesterday but today, it happens to be here when I arrived. I figured it was from your secret lover or something considering the meaning behind that flower,"

"The meaning?" Your head cocked one side, perplexed.

"That's called a Camellia flower. They come in different colours; white, red and pink, each having its own unique symbolism. This one particularly means 'longing for you' in the language of flowers," he explained as you gaped at its frame.

Your eyes traced the small rosy petals that overlapped each other followed by the dark glossy leaves, extending right beneath it. Contrary to the vibrant colours, the meaning felt melancholic. It was like a wistful plea for love, hidden under a cheery mask. Had you not know the meaning , you would've thought it was a portrayal of happiness.

'Who would give me such flowers...'

The door burst open to reveal a fatigue Todoroki, but as soon as he saw your condition, his eyes lit up. The small bouquet of Baby's breath flowers slipped from his hands and fell down to the ground as he stared at you in disbelief. There was a moment of silence before he hurriedly dashed ahead and pulled both your shoulders close to his chest where he tightly embraced your petite form. The sound of his rapid heartbeat pounded loud and clear in your ears as his ragged breathing quickened. Was he really that worried?

"I'm sorry y/n, i'm really sorry," He murmured repeatedly all the while tightening his grip around your body. His hands were strong but they were trembling.

"It's fine, I'm alive now aren't I?" You positioned your chin over his shoulders and pat his back. The small bouquet that remained on the ground caught your attention and it was evident that Todoroki wasn't the one who gave the Camellia flower. It still bothered you that the person was unknown and there was no clue leading to him, even so, you wanted to treasure that gift.

The hug broke off when the doctor arrived to check on your condition. It seems that your skin had healed completely and there were no damages to the underlying tissues.
