You dug your nails into his skin, clawing it with every ounce of your depleting energy, yet it had no effects on him. Laughter found its way out of his throat upon the sight of such fearful eyes."Hey, y/n. I didn't know you had such lovely erotic expression. I love it so much," he grinned like a psychopath lusting over his lover
"L-Let me go..." you whimpered as darkness started clouding your vision. The man continued to laugh hysterically with his thumbs squeezed tightly against your throat.
Small ragged gasps escaped your lips. You knew life was slowly slipping away when your mind started flashing all those memories you had with 1A, Aizawa, Todoroki, Midnight and everyone else. Those times were truly precious and you regretted not being able to fully appreciate them. Tears build up around the edges of your eyes and when you finally closed them, it cascaded down your rosy cheeks endlessly. You let your hands fall limp to the side.
Just as you were about to give in, there was a loud thump followed by a groan. He finally released his grip, making you drop to the ground coughing and gasping for air. Your watery eyes traveled its way up to see what happened when another man delivered a strong punch to the psychopath, sending him smashing to the wall behind.
"Sensei..?" you cried softly, watching him grab the man by his collar. His lips were all bruised and bloody but he continued to smirk.
Aizawa frowned and gave him another punch, causing the man to cough up blood.
"Its been long, sensei..." he grinned and spitted out saliva. "But i guess it's time for me to go now,"
"You-!" Before Aizawa could speak, the man vanished in the speed of light, leaving a few traces of electric spark behind.
Your eyes widened in disbelief at his sudden disappearance. It startled you how he was able to escape in a blink of an eye. What was his quirk?
Aizawa quickly turned to find your trembling form that was tightly holding on to the Camellia flowers lying on the floor. His eyes softened when he saw there were no injuries. Still, a part of him was quivering from the sight of seeing you on the brink of death. He didn't want it to be a cycle of nightmare, having to always see you at death's doors.
He got down on his knees with his hands slowly reaching out for your shoulders. Without hesitation, he pulled you into a hug, cocooning your cold petite body under his warmth firm arms. You were too dazed to even say anything and so your head remained rested against his chest.
"I'm sorry, y/n. Truly I am," Aizawa whispered with his face buried slightly into your hair. He positioned his hand behind your head, pressing it close to him while he used the other to pull out his phone. You heard the dialling sound followed by a ring and then Tsukauchi's voice came in.
Without releasing his grip around you, he spoke, "Tsukauchi, it's me. The villain... He was here."
A loud gasp could be heard elicited from your uncle behind the phone. Afterwards there was a brief moment of silence before he recollected himself and eventually spoke,
"After 10 years and he has finally emerged...huh? Is y/n okay?"
"Y/n is unhurt but she's in a state of shock right now. I'll drive her home. Meanwhile, can you take a look into this matter, Tsukauchi?" Aizawa asked.
"Definitely, I will. Please take care of y/n for me, she needs all the company she can get. I don't think I'm able to reach home early today so please stay by her side at all cost," Tsukauchi firmly requested.
"Yes, you have my word," he vowed before the phone call came to an end. You moved away from Aizawa to look at him and he did the same, gazing down at you momentarily.
"He was the same villain who took away my mother's life, isn't it? On that rainy day..." You shakily questioned leaving him speechless.
He slowly parted his lips to talk, ".. Yes. We weren't able to capture him on that day and there were no traces of him afterwards, not after 10 years."
You could feel your head spin and pulsate from the unbelievable news. The fact that you came face to face with him and was on the verge of death because of him again put knots in your stomach and conjured a foul taste in your mouth. Truthfully you just felt like puking on the ground right now. That was a nightmare kept hidden deep within your head but for him to casually appear and unleash it so easily traumatised and scarred you immensely. The feeling of his rough calloused hands choking your neck remained clear that it made your skin crawl.
"Here, take my hand," Aizawa's deep voice snapped you out from the lingering thoughts. His face was calm and composed, creating this safe barrier around him. And when your hand clasped his, it felt like you were under his protection, far from danger.
Once again, he was your hero.
The two of you exited the hospital and entered his car that was surprisingly cosy, from the pulpy seats, to the smell of lavender that lingered in the air. It made you feel at home for some reason. Even the way Aizawa drove was smooth and rhythmic, like being on a cradle, ready to put you to sleep. However, your fingers still fidgeted nervously from the previous incident. Part of you was at ease but the other half just couldn't erase the terrifying memories.
Aizawa glanced to his side, noticing the way your fingers entwined and untwined themselves. He began to speak, "Y/n.."
Yet, there was no reply. He called you once more to no avail.
"Y/n," he uttered for the third time but you were still lost in your thoughts. Just then, he snatched your right hand, seizing it and interlacing his fingers with yours. This made you regain your consciousness as you hastily turned to look at him. His eyes remained fixated on the road without saying a word.
"I thought you said you couldn't reciprocate my feelings..." you murmured under your breath while looking away. "Then.. why are you doing this?"
He paused for a moment before answering, "That's right. But I promised Tsukauchi that I'd protect you, and it includes easing your anxiety. If you feel uncomfortable, I can let go-"
"No, its fine," you replied, cutting his sentence off. He only gave a nod of acknowledgment. Before you knew it, the both of you arrived at your apartment.
You unlocked the door and took of your shoes prior to entering. The Camellia flowers that were kept in the bag were neatly arranged in a transparent glass. Aizawa watched you place the vase on the counter, making sure it was centralised.
"I know Uncle Tsukauchi is going to come back late. So make yourself at home for the time being. Feel free to use the coffee maker or the rest room. You can watch the TV too if you want," you told him before getting the towel and hopping into the bathroom to wash up.
