Hello everyone,

Thank you so much for reading Lose Control. Wow, this has been one hell of a ride.

And I'll admit, it has been a long while since I've first drafted something so complex.

It was hard. It was frustrating. It was discouraging.

It was fun, it was emotional, it was evil.

Maybe the pacing was a bit off, I can't tell. There were a lot of typos. But in the end, this is it.

Writing this story has been much harder than I anticipated, mainly because I didn't expect all that trauma I put the characters through to take its toll on me. Surprise, surprise. It did.

But I guess that's what you get when you try to write realistic feelings.

Once again, I didn't have time to write, read back, edit and post. But even if sometimes it felt like too much, I forced myself to write on, and actually have a first draft I can fix later.

I ended up being fairly satisfied with the story. Even if it's more emotional than action, I felt it needed to be different from the first three. The pattern was broken and real life became more challenging for our cast.

The characters are older, their lives are different and so are their experiences. I also fell in love with the two new characters I've introduced, and I can't be happier how they worked themselves into the plot. I'm talking about Lee Hannigan and Roberta Sanchez of course.

Nah, just kidding. Sarah and Skye.

I have given more information on the plot of the series than ever before and there were some key moments here I have been planning for a very long time.

The meeting between Freider, Maxi and Snitch with the repercussions. The revelations in space. The past adventures of the first team. The extra brother.

There are SO many hints and the next two books will just focus on confirming or denying the theories you have at this point. It's not impossible to predict. But you also won't know for sure until the end.

I know there were SO MANY BRICKS in this book, a lot of them emotional. I've disbanded two of my original couples. One is also broken, at the moment not even close to being repair.

The other two I've left more solid, even if at the moment Jimmy has no idea who he is.

Yes, I've left him like that. Yes, Angie just left. And also yes, Sam's going to be a daddy. Because he's always been too young 😎 (Couldn't help that).

What's next?

There will be a book 5.5 which will once again be only a few chapters long. Book 6 takes place about a year and a half after this one (timeline is still a little iffy because the tie in with book 6 will be difficult).

With those said, I'll have a playlist chapter (because I had SO many songs for this book) after which I will post again when I start on book 5.5.

As has become customary, book 5.5 will be posted inside this one, so stay tuned for that. I'm not sure about a time frame, but it won't last too long. I think I might spam you with it like I did for 4.5 and post it all at once.

Regarding book six, I'm excited to get started on it, but I am planning to take a little break before I start writing it.

This next one is not only an ultimate first draft, but it's not even plotted properly, so half of it will probably be a surprise to me as well. Those said, I might do a description, cover reveal and teaser for it once LC reaches 20k. Unless I don't post 5.5. By then😅 Then you get a 5.5. title and mini cover reveal.

Meanwhile, I will try to return to my other projects.

As mentioned, book 6 will not have the same type of drama, so prepare for something new.

Historical and geographical accuracy

The historical facts in this story are totally made up because there are no giant jewels 😂.

But, the legend of Osiris, Isis and Horus is legit as is the description of what could be found in the burial rooms.

Geography of Egypt is on point (as always, I don't mess with geography). The location of the temple is, of course, made up, but that empty stretch of desert does exist.

I have also researched the layout of space stations and the effects of outer space on the human body. That was fun, even if I didn't end up using too much of it.

Mandatory questions

Yes, of course, because it wouldn't be me otherwise. So if you feel like it, I want to ask you about your favorites and if there are any changes from previous books. Trust me, these have a reason.

Favorite character?

Favorite couple?

Favorite scene?

Did you feel like there was character growth and plot evolution?

Anything you would have liked more / less of?

Anything that you feel didn't make sense or needed to be expanded on better?

Biggest change from the previous books.

I want to give you all another huge thank you.

As you already know, this series is my baby and every read and comment I get on it means the world to me. I always appreciate honest feedback because there is still so much that can be improved, but I honestly and deeply hope you've enjoyed the ride.

As always, I feel like I'm forgetting something, but then again, I never go back to writing more in these things 😅.

Hope to see you in the next book so we can finish this crazy journey together.

Love,

Stef🌠
