THE PRACTICE BEFORE their first game was the practice all the year 10 girls had been worrying about. It was the practice that they would find out their primary position and who they were usually going to be on a shift with. Kristi was procrastinating more than anyone.

The nine girls began to walk to the field collectively as Kristin rambled on and on about positions and all the bad possibilities she could experience. Even Mack couldn't change the topic in her mind.

"Kristi, you'll be fine," Eva sighed as she put a comforting hand on Kristin Lennon's shoulder, "nothing bad is going to happen- you're already on the team"

"I mean," Tevi smirked as she glanced back at the girl, "Clev could bench you"

November facepalmed as Tevi and Tilly held mischievous smirks. Eva sent her twin a death glare before kicking the back of her leg. "Shut up you bastard"

"If I'm a bastard then you're a bastard too" Tevi remarked as she stuck her tongue out at Evangeline. Eva cast a deadly glare in her twins direction as Tilly turned and gave her a smirk.

"She has a point"

As the pair of twins bickered, Kristi's anxiousness had risen by quite a lot. Needless to say, the girl's anxiety was not ready for practice.

"Funny guys," Danielle sarcastically spoke, "but need I remind you that Kristi here looks like she's having asthma attack"

"Mack probably had an inhaler" Tilly shrugged in a joking manner

Eva sent the dirty blonde a glare before rolling her eyes. "Mack doesn't have asthma you arse"

Nova just ignored all their constant insults at one another as she handed Kristin her water bottle. "Take a sip," November said, "maybe it'll make things better"

Quickly, Kristi took the bottle and chugged some water- nearly choking in the process. As the girl erupted into a fit of coughs, Tilly and Tevi snickered you one another while Eva stared at her best friend with concern.

November's eyebrows drew together as she put a reassuring hand on Kristi's upper arm. "Honey, slow down"

"Yeah," Danielle chuckled, "you're going to end up hurting yourself before practice even starts"

November felt the breeze of the wind flow past her as they walked out onto the field. In the near distance, they saw Maysie Krohl, the team captain, talking to all the players on the sidelines, waiting for the boys practice to finish.

The girls were all silenced as they heard Brianna gasp before taking out her hair tie and letting her hair flow down. The girl turned to look where Morgan, Tilly, and Tevi were laughing.

"You said they didn't have practice today!" The blonde whined

Eva gave Bri an exasperated look as she gawked at her desperateness. "They have practice the same days as we do, stupid!"

"She wouldn't know," Danielle whispered to Evangeline with a snicker, "she's too busy curling her hair"

The girls all laughed while Brianna pulled out a mirror from her backpack. Kristi's breathing had immaculately calmed down once they approached the team and all November could do was sink into content as she found space between the boys water bottles, on the bench, to sit.

Minding her own business, the girl slipped her shin guards into her socks before rummaging through her bag for prowrap. However, the girl couldn't help but feel the breeze pick up. Nova let out a sigh.

Hesitantly, she pulled out Adam's hawks hoodie that sat in her bag from the practice prior. She didn't want to but she felt her arms develop goosebumps as she let out a shiver.

November stood up and began to slip on the hoodie. Of course, it had decided to get stuck on her ponytail and the girl couldn't help but stumble a bit as she tried to shake her head out.

"Need help?" She heard a familiar English accent chime out as she finally slipped her head through. November let out a tired huff of breath as she turned towards the voice and adjusted the hoodie she had been trying to wear.

Nova let out an airy chuckle as she shook her head while fixing her ponytail. "I'm good, thanks"

She watched as the boys expression shifted to a shocked one upon hearing her voice. "American?" He asked in slight bewilderment

Nova pursed her lips together and nodded. "How'd you guess" She laughed jokingly. Although, boy was oblivious in the question being rhetorical

"You're accent, its kind of a give away"

November tried her best to not give him a dumbfounded look as she nodded and gave an awkward chuckle. "Right... I figured.."

An awkward silence filled the two and November wanted to leave but she didn't want to be rude. So simply, the girl just folded her hands behind her back as she rocked back and forth on her heels.

"Oh!" The boy finally chirped, "I'm Kyle Wesley, year 11... you're a..."

"Year 10," November stated nonchalantly, "I'm November Collins"

Kyle nodded before shifting his gaze to her hoodie in a quick motion. She watched as he rose his eyebrows in suspicion. "Why does your jumper say Banks?"

November internally groaned at the, yet another, mention of her hoodie. The girl was simply just tired of getting the same feeling each time. "It's just something," Nova said with a bored expression and shrug, "I gotta go"

Quickly, Nova shoved past the boy and made her way to Eva, Tevi, and Danielle, not daring to look back at where she felt Kyle's eyes piercing at the back of her head.

She was clearly uninterested- despite how attractive she thought the boy was. She just couldn't feel anything happening between them. However, she'd never really payed attention to how she felt around people- particularly guys. She was just truly oblivious in that aspect.

November only really spent time with her hockey team and that was all the guys she needed in her life. Besides, If she had to even date anyone, it would have to be someone she was just comfortable with- not like the boys she meets and feels awkward around. It had to be someone who she is all natural around. Someone she can play around with like an old married couple. Someone who was her best friend.

But November didn't know any better. The girl was really just blindsided when it came to these things. After all, she never really cared about feelings or guys per-say. She'd never thought she had ever developed strong feelings for a boy as she never had a situation where they would be challenged to reveal themselves. Though, those who knew would say otherwise.

But nonetheless, it didn't matter. It seemed like a lost cause which everyone still had some hope for. Connie Moreau sure still had hope. But after all, like mentioned before, the girl was just oblivious in this aspect...
