The page from the ER had come at an inconvenient time but this was her job. Hanna's job didn't allow for convenience, if she was needed then she simply has to go. She didn't mind though, helping people had always been something she wanted to do. Whether that was in the army or in a hospital. She did love her job.

"Dr O'Reilly!" A voice came from behind her.

"If it isn't my favourite resident!" She chimed as she slowed to let Leah catch up, "you with me today?"

"Yeah, and can I say how happy I am that you're back,"she said as they walked at a fast pace down the corridor.

"I'm happy to be back. I have a good feeling. Today started off... well... not that great but, now I feel good," Hanna told her as they turned the corner into the ER, "I don't know, I'm excited to teach. I'm excited for life. It's gonna be a great day, I'm calling it."

Hanna had looked up for just a second before she saw him. A man walking towards them. Her instinct was to ask if he was okay but she felt something untoward about him.

"Hey sir," she said as she watched him raise his hand, "sir!"

"You don't even know me," was all he said, and then...

Three shots.

Bang. Bang. Bang.
