Virgil had just suffered the most embarrassing failiure of his entire life. He messed up his wedding vows. Infront of everyone... In such a small village the news spread like wildfire. Not a single person would forgive him for his failure. Not his parents, not Roman, not Romans parents... no one.

So the young man ran, carrying both the wedding rings, deep into the forest. He found an old oak tree and sighed, looking at the two rings in the palm of his hand "how could I have failed such simple bloody vows?!" He hissed to himself in hatred. "With... Okay. With this hand, I shall lift your sorrows.. your cup shall never empty, for I will be your wine. With this candle I'll light your way in the darkness... with this ring" he placed one of the rings on a strange looking branch, placing the other on his own before finishing. "I ask you to be mine."

Instantly the branch curled around Virgils wrist, startling him before he tried to pull his arm away, pulling the branch out from the ground with a slight snap. A strong wind kicked up around the anxiety ridden boy while he tried to pull the branch off of his arm. A soft, sweet voice pulled Virgil out of his panic as it spoke to him two simple words, "I do.", before taking the boys hands in their single hand. Virgil, startled about everything looked up to see a man; he looked around the same age as the now fearful man, skin a cloudy pale that was almost blue, his hair was an almost muddy blonde and he wore a beautiful white suit. Virgil was terrified and started to run back towards the village after finally managing to pull of what he had now found out to be a bony hand from his arm, slipping partially on some unseen ice, until he made it to the bridge.

Turning to look behind him he saw that his undead pursuer was no longer behind him. "I.. I m-must have been imagining-" he began, turning to see the undead man infront of him before meekly finishing his sentence "-things..." he stepped back slowly in fear. With each step Virgil took back the figure infront of him moved closer until he was practically pinned to the wall of the bridge. The figure cupped Virgils face in his hands before speaking softly "You may now kiss your groom." With a warm smile he softly pecked the living mans lips before the world went black.

When the anxious boy awoke he heard how someone yelled about a 'new arrival' before he noticed the one from before. "He must have fainted, or..." he paused once he noticed that Virgil had woken up and derailed his own train of thought. "Are you alright? You're not hurt are you?" He sweetly pestered, helping up the scared and confused boy. "Where... am I..? What happened?" He mumbled, jumping out of his skin when a skeleton cheered into his face slightly "By Jove you lot, we got ourselves a breather!" This caused the poor boy to wriggle away, moving closer to the kinder corpse whom had caused him to faint. With a tinge of annoyance he told the skeleton to move away since he was scared. Some other members of the undead making small remarus, one young skeletal boy poking his arm. Getting up and using the counter behind him for support Virgil still remained close to the one he had known the longest, even if it had been barely any time. A second later the group held a toast to 'the newlyweds' which made Virgil furrow his brows, repeating the last word in confusion. "You said your vows so flawlessly back in the woods, my love." He giggled while showing off the golden ring that glistened on his skeletal ring finger. Virgil was slightly dumbfounded barely managing to stutter out a sentence.

Muttering to himself how it had to have been a dream Virgil was about to hit his head against the bar top until he felt the cold hand of his apparent 'husband' cover his forehead before running down to his chin, lifting it up to begin eye contact with the sweet yet worry filled eyes of the corpse. Soon the dead boys lips curved into a kind smile, after two minutes the entire bar burst into song yet both Virgil and his corpse husband left the bar, alerting not a single other being. "I know it may be... difficult to get used to, dear... My, you don't even know my name!" The corpse cut himself of in sudden realization as the duo reached a small cliff. "My name is Patton. And your name? If I may, I'd want to make a lovers nickname for you." Patton finished, his accidental husband said the name three times. He mused how it was a beautiful name for a beautiful corpse which made the dead man glance away, an invisible blush dusting his cold cheeks. "My name is Virgil. It isn't as nice as yours-" Virgil was cut off when Patton panicked, telling him not to lie to himself and that his name was more beautiful that any rose that bloomed in the living land, making Virgils heart race and his cheeks flush a bright pink.

A few days passed and the couple grew quite close, as if they had lived together in the world of the living. Virgil had drank the wine of ages, he had joined his love in the underworld, where he felt the most joy. And the lovers were happy. Truly, wonderfully happy.

-----------------------------------------------------------Hello my wonderful rabbits! For Some small trivia about me I am absolutely in love with Tim Burton and Lakina films! So you may probably tell where the inspiration for this one shot seeps from. I hope you're all surviving through this struggling time. I'm open to ship only requests if you want more of any ship. As long as it isn't Logicality, Prinxiety or Remrom (because... who the hell ships remrom) then I'll work on it. Although it will be slightly slow.

Stay safe my rabbits. You're all much to weird to live but to rare to die.
