Chapter 33: Misunderstanding

Jisoo's POV

'I only did that because I heard you and Hyumin confessing to each other.'

'Just so little Jennie could escape an arranged marriage with my son, she used her cousin as replacement.'

'Jisoo, oh poor Jisoo. Betrayed by her own cousin?'

Jennie... Why?

On the way back, I analyzed everything I've heard from earlier. I remembered what Aunt Hee said the other day as well..

Now I know who exactly is 'that girl' they've been talking about. Aunt Hee had seen through Jennie's plans and played along. Jennie.. Jennie said she heard me and Hyumin confessing to each other that day...

When was it she said?

'that day when I visited from New Zealand to congratulate you on graduating, it was also the day Aunt Hee and Hyumin visited the mansion'

My mind recalled last night when Taehyung...

'A week later, I planned to visit you at your mansion, but.. it didn't go as planned. I found out about your engagement with Hyumin'

That day before graduation when I tried to confess to Taehyung, he pushed me away and even told me that he was unworthy of me... [1]

A week later after graduation, father suprisingly gave me a mansion to live in with Lisa and even threw a housewarming party for me. I remembered it was a party meant for family and close friends only. Naturally, the Parks were invited since our families have been close since I was a child. Jennie was also present that day.. I never saw Taehyung present. Moreover, how could he know about the upcoming engagement so quickly? The original pair was supposed to be Jennie and Hyumin but it was changed last minute and I didn't even bother asking why

Who told Taehyung about my engagement with Hyumin?

When did I confess to Hyumin?

Just what really happened that day?

My mind put the pieces altogether, my unending questions were unconsciously getting an answer based on my analyzations.. until I finally came up with a conclusion

"So it was..."

"Ma'am, we've arrived at Mr. Kim's villa." the driver suddenly spoke

I looked around and got off the van, thanking the driver. I didn't even realize that we've already arrived.

Although I promised the girls to visit them at the mansion... I don't think I can face Jennie right now.

Right now, my top priority is to clear this misunderstanding between Taehyung and I.

I took a deep breath and entered the villa, Taehyung's probably at work now so I have to wait for him. I should get plenty of time to prepare my speech.

Gosh why am I so nervous?

"Jisoo." a startling yet familiar voice called out as I was about to walk upstairs in a trance

"T- Taehyung? What are you doing here?" I blurted, completely unprepared

"This is our home so why do you ask such a question?" Taehyung raised an eyebrow, I noticed the laptop on his lap and the documents sprawled on the coffee table.

So he's working from home again. Wait a minute- he said ..

'our home'

I instantly felt hot and I swear I could feel myself blushing. He's taking our marriage seriously that he's now accustomed to saying that this is our home.
