In this part, I just want to tell you which are the facts and which are the fiction within the story because I've been mixing them up. Also, I want to share my journey in writing this book. 🙃
July 2019. That's when I posted the first chapter of this book. If I'm right, this is the first MCND fan fiction on Wattpad.
I made that song I included in Chapter 6 (I have no idea how to write a song, btw). It was for an assignment. I made two songs and I only submitted the other one and I figured why not use Crotchet as a theme for a fanfic...So I started writing right away without any idea about the plot. I just wanted to make a story for the few fans of MCND to enjoy. At that time, MCND only had maybe less than 5k followers on Twitter and around 20-30k on IG. (But look at them now. I'm crying 😭)
I've been posting chapters regularly until early September '19. There are a few readers and I stopped for months because I had to study for a certification exam.
It was not until January 2020 when I posted the next chapter. It was also around that time when other MCND fanfics began emerging from various authors because they were finally getting recognition from their pre-debut.
I stopped writing again for a couple of months because I had this idea for my Huijun fanfic (I plan to make one for each member) and after that, I focused on my one-shots. It was then that I thought of making an outline for this story.
After making the outline and writing a few chapters, I had an idea for my Bic fanfic and I finished that first.
Chapter 13 became the turning point of this story because it totally messed up my outline so I had to re-outline and change the story. Chapter 16 & 17 became another struggle because it messed up the story I had in mind again. And finally, Chapter 22 😅 Yeah, that was an unplanned chapter so I'm currently re-re-outlining. 😅😅😅
It was supposed to only have 20 chapters but I kept on making unplanned conflicts and I just have to continue. Right now, I have in mind until chapter 34 but who knows what will happen given that I don't really follow my outline.
Here's for the facts & fiction...
I think they're not something you don't know yet but I'm listing just in case. Most of them are from the earlier chapters and they don't majorly affect the story in any way.
I'm doing this for fun because I was rereading the story before I re-re-outline. 😊
Facts:
1. Seongjun was a child actor
2. He went to a dance academy (DEF) before being cast as a trainee
3. He already has over a hundred songs composed/started
4. MCND posted dance and song covers (PMG) from May-Oct 2019 prior to pre-debut
5. They had this 'fan meeting thingy' called Play to Meet You (Quest2) in mid-August 2019. They only accepted around 200 people (and it was for free! 😭)
6. Minjae's goal is to be 185cm tall. He's currently 180cm, I don't think he updated it yet
7. MCND (along with other TOP Media trainees) went to the U.S. once a year since 2016 to train. They posted a bunch of pictures and dance videos on their IG (previously named SuperRookieRookieRookie) but they deleted everything on December 2018 except those with Seongjun, Seungmin, Minjae & Huijun and changed the name to TOPBrojr...and, eventually, to MCND.
8. They filmed TOP Gang MV in LA during their November 2019 visit. That was the first time Win joined them there
9. The Dec2019 promotions for TOP Gang were just part of their Supermate Quest (Quest3). There were supposed to be 4 quests but nobody knows what happened to Quest4
10. MCND indeed topped Naver search after all TOP Gang performances on music shows
Fiction:
1. Seongjun being a music major
- He actually majored in Theatre & Film during High School (Anyang Arts)...I'm not sure about his college (He said he took a leave of absence to focus on MCND)
Of course, you already know everything else is fictional but those are the facts that I kinda included in the story. I just explained a bit about them. You can ask me more questions or tell me if I got some of the facts wrong 🙂🙂
