Steve McGarrett is still raising his teenage daughter Lissy in Oahu, Haw...
Lissy- "Why do I have to write a dumb essay on that"
Dad- "Because apparently to you drinking, smoking, and doing drugs is no big deal. So you are going to write a four-page essay on why it's bad."
Lissy- "I can't write a four-page essay."
Dad- "And why not"?
Lissy- " Because I was going surfing with Alexis today."
Dad- "You are going to write that essay, and I wouldn't have let you go surfing, even if you weren't going to do the essay."

Lissy- "See! That is exactly why I snuck out. You never let me hang out with my friends."
Dad- "Do I need to remind you who you are talking to. Clearly, you have forgotten because I didn't teach my daughter to speak to me the way you just did."
Lissy- (no response)
Dad- "And let me remind you that I did give you permission to go when you had asked me. But since you decided to pull a stupid stunt like you did last night, you are not going."

Lissy- "You are being unfair. You said I could go, and you never go back on your word, and you promised me that I. could go."
Dad- "Well, keeping my word and my promises disappear when you sneak out, drink, and smoke. I'm not rewarding you by letting you go surf with your friends."
Lissy- "But I already told them I would go with them."
Dad- "Well, then you can tell them that you can't go because you are grounded for the time being"
