Ruby stood on the edge of a large cliff. The breeze gently blew. She pulled her hood down. She gazed upon a grave, old, slightly cracked. A Rose Emblem rested in the center. Under then emblem was writing
"Summer Rose-Thus kindly I scatter" Ruby smiled as she started to speak. "Hey mom. Sorry I haven't come by in a while. Things have been...well things have been, pretty busy." She paused for a moment. It was like she was hearing a response
"Oh! Dad's here too!" She looked behind her at her father. An older blonde fellow. "He's uh...dad." she shrugged "He's still teaching at signal but he said he's going to be on some mission soon" Ruby looked back to the grave.
"And uh...before I continue" she took a breath "I think you should know that uh..." She paused to gather her thoughts "I have a Boyfriend" she waited...listened. after a moment of silence she spoke again
"He's really cool. he's a team leader, he's funny, he makes me happy. He's super nice." She smiled real big. "And. He's goofy. I think you would have really liked him. He asked me out after the entrance exam for beacon."
Ruby's father seemed a bit tense when she spoke about her boyfriend.
"After that we went on a few more dates. Then he asked me to be his girlfriend." She blushed "I said Yes, and now we are dating. we... Actually had our first kiss at the dance"
Ruby looked behind her to her father "However...when I told dad I don't think he reacted the way I wanted him to" she giggled a little as she looked back to the grave. "He's actually here. With me and dad"
She turned around fully and held her hand out. Her father released the boy from his tight grip with a fake smile and let him go.
The boy walked forward and gently grabbed Ruby's hand. She smiled up at him as he smiled down at her.
She then got on her knees, the boy doing the same. Then Ruby took his hand and gently placed it on the stone "Mom. This is (y/n). My boyfriend."
(Y/n) smiled "A pleasure to meet you Mrs. Rose. Ruby has told me so much about you, tell me. Did you seriously take on 4 major ursai alone? I know skill but that seems impossible" Ruby giggled as (y/n) chuckled
"But seriously. Ruby talks about you all the time. I can tell she really looked up to you" Ruby took over "(y/n) is the leader of Team CPPR. And before you ask it's his last name. His last names Copper"
(Y/n) continued "Yea. I don't mean to brag but my team is the best second year team at beacon. Besides CVFY anyway, oh and Ruby mention you used a Scythe as well. I guess it must be a family thing right"
Ruby looked at him "Uncle Qrow taught both of us" (y/n) shrugged "I use a sword. I know it's basic. But I enjoy it. My sword skills come from my dad while my mom taught me about my guns. OH! My grandma was the most bada-" he stopped himself and took a breath
"My grandmother was the most expirienced blacksmith in atlas. She made all my weapons before she died." Ruby giggled "what?" (Y/n) asked "My mom cursed like a sailor" (y/n) relaxed "oh thank God..." Ruby sniffled a laugh as a bark was heard "Oh! Looks like dad's ready to go. We should wrap this up"
Ruby and (y/n) stood up as Ruby explained that she keeps yang in line and enjoys her teammates and her team and how confusing it is to have a team named after you
As they were ready to leave Ruby took a few steps away with her hood up. But (y/n) stayed by the grave "Mrs. Rose. I promise you. Ruby is in good hands. I may not seem like much. But I love her. I do. And I will do whatever it takes to keep her safe" Ruby smiled as she listened
"Ruby is my Flower. Nobody will ever pluck her from my garden" he paused "It's a weird example but you get it" he laughed "Anyway. Again it was a pleasure meeting you Mrs. Rose."
