Warning there is some very real Kayli hate here and in later chapters. This is the only warning and I don't apologize for the clear hate-on lol. 😘

This mission might just be a dud. We've only been here two weeks and already have found so much wrong. The building is falling apart, money is going missing not to mention the drugs and there are way too many students. With this many problem students you'd think there would be more fights than there are really.

The coding class is probably my favorite to teach. Most of the students don't give a shit but there are definitely a couple who pay attention. I look out over the class about five minutes in and see Sang Sorenson, one of the few students who actually knows anything, snickering silently. Honestly this girl is crazy beautiful. Red-blonde hair with the most intense green eyes and cream colored skin. If I wasn't pretending to be a teacher I would most definitely be trying to hit on her.

I tap into her computer to see what has her sniggering so intensely. She is messing with another student's game. I know I should say something to her but he kind of deserves it. Rocky keeps trying to put naked girls in his game and all she's doing is putting clothes on them. It's pretty funny watching his face as she does this so I can't really say much about it.

Class is pretty quiet. I glance up every few minutes to make sure no one needs any help but most of these kids are sleeping. I don't have the energy to care about them actually doing the work so I don't bother saying anything. Lately I don't really have the energy for anything. It's been three years since Brandon and I joined The Academy. It's been three years of helping people non-stop. I know this is a good thing. I love the work I do but, the one person I've always wanted to help is out of my reach.

When I finally cracked Victor's security a couple days ago what little was left of my heart was shredded. Honestly I should be grateful that I still had that much. It was because of Hacker that Kayli's betrayal didn't sting so much. I liked Kayli, don't get me wrong, she was hot and well I'm still a guy so, well I thought I could love her. I know Marc and Brandon fell for her hard and are still sore from her cheating months later. One good thing I will say about that bitch is that Raven and I finally got together.

My thought's wander to a certain tattooed Russian when I notice a tiny gasp. It's so quiet I almost miss it. When I look up Sang is clutching her chest with tears in her eyes. I resist the urge to look at her screen again and just go over there.

I've told the class to call me Corey because Mr. Henshaw reminds me too much of my father and every time I think of him I have to resist a shudder. Sang is the only one who won't call me Corey. Well, her and Owen but I don't really think he counts as he's not a student. When I reach Sang's workspace I can tell she had something pulled up but the look on her face makes me sure that I won't look into it. I respect people's privacy too much and until someone thinks she's involved with the shit at this school I won't snoop through her life.

I plaster on my best fake smile as I say, "Hey Sang! Everything going ok over here?" she seems to slam a wall down inside her head before she answers me. I hate that anyone is so closed off. I know B has that problem and the she-beast didn't help things but this girl seems so happy. I know it's probably a mask but still.

When Sang finally answers she has the smallest smile in place. It's almost as if she's afraid anything more will crack her face in two. "All good. Just finished my game." Now, not to sound bloated but I'm usually pretty good at spotting a lie and that was a total lie. A bad one at that. "Really?" I drawl out. The expression on her face looks so tired that I feel a little bad for calling her out. "Yep, here." Sang replies as she turns her monitor my way.

I watch as a demo plays through of a fighting game that you have to solve riddles to gain anything. The concept is really cool. I know from how many times she's hacked Rocky's work that she knows her way around the computer so I can't help myself. I have to know how far she has taken this. My not-so inner geek is coming out with this girl. "Wow! I must say Sang you have out done yourself here. Is this the full version or just the assignment?" I know I sound a little too excited about this but the only person I can really talk code with is Victor and I'm mad at him right now so sue me.

When I ask her that she starts to blush deeply. Damn, if she wasn't a student- stop it Corey! "-have the full version but this is just the demo. I have to tweak a few things at the end of the full one but I can't seem to figure out the right sequence." Shit! Focus on the student not on the fact that she looks pretty. Think with your upstairs head here.

So, she does have more done. I wonder why that embarrassed her? Maybe it was just the idea of doing extra work but that doesn't really seem to fit. My interest is piqued and I really want to see more of this game. Hopefully that will give me a clue as to why she's so embarrassed. I stand there for a second pondering what to do as she stares off. When it looks like she's coming back to the present I say "Well, how about you send me the full version and I'll help you finish? You've already done so much more than needed I think I can give a little help.", I know I'm on a mission but I can teach too damn it!

Sang stares at me for a second before carefully replying to my question. Now I know that her reason for embarrassment is in that game. Gimme! "Um, sure I can do that now." "Great!" My response probably sounds a little too bubbly but I don't care. I have a new game to play!

When I get back to my desk I have the link to her game in my school inbox. With twenty minutes left in class I figure I can probably work my way through a little bit of it. About ten minutes later my phone pings with an email. I don't see anything on the computer so it has to be Academy related. I pull out my phone to see who needs what now and see that it isn't Academy. I have a notification from my old email. Only one person could be messaging me on that.

I sit at my desk staring at the un-opened email until the bell rings, signalling the end of class. With a sigh I put my phone away to go to the meeting I have with my team and the Blackbourne team. Earlier today Nathan saw someone we haven't screened yet passing out something. It could have been homework but we can't be too careful at this school.
