Cathryn sung quietly, swaddling the child in her arms. She spun around the room, dancing with Maylis. She hummed old tunes her mother had once sang her to sleep with, her feet seamlessly in time with her voice. Maylis remained asleep, Cathryn placing the occasional kiss on her daughter's forehead, caressing her daughter's soft skin.

She whispered her daughter's past to her as she slept. The story of two lover's bound to make silly mistakes. The girl ordering the boy to leave, taking the child away too. The rainy night, the soaked sheets at the absence of her baby.

Cathryn admired the child forever. She could truly capture both her and Ruby's attributes in her pudgy face. Ruby's warm skin and dark eyelashes, Cathryn's pink lips and piercing blue eyes. The child stirred in her crib, and Cathryn quickly stood up. Realizing now, that she had sneaked out of her room, to see her own child. Cathryn exhaled and gave a last long gaze at Maylis before leaving her room.

Cathryn walked quietly through flickering the hall's of the Fawn estate. Contempt now, and ready to fall into a peaceful slumber. Cathryn rounded the corner to her hallway and was ungraciously greeted with a pair of boys standing anxiously before her door.
