Both Of You

"You don't seem to smile?"
I asked you after a while.
"It's nothing."
You told me but I know there's something.
The way you forced it,
That smile on your face did not fit.

I wanted to not let it bother me,
But knowing you, I know there's something wrong, you see.
I just can't stand around,
As you're too meek and no sound.
That isn't like you,
I'm taking a guess, but I hope it's not true.

I asked, "How are the both of you?"
But you just looked down and I didn't know what to do.
You then hid under my shirt and started crying.
I just stood still and patted your back while sighing.
"I know it's hard for you." I told her.
Then you nodded and gave a little shudder.
