your pov

as i run through the hallways with hermione to the gryffindor common room, i couldn't be more excited. the yule ball is tonight! we're on our way to get ready, hermione promised she would do my hair. we enter and hurry up the stairs to the girls dorm.

"i can't wait to see your dress! i think silver will go so nicely with your eyes!" she says, taking out her makeup bag. i smile, it's funny to see how excited hermione is now the ball is about to happen, the other day she almost seemed as if she didn't want to go.

"ok, how about we do hair, makeup, and then get dressed." i tell her, and she nods. i sit down in a chair while hermione does my hair.

"alright, why do your think?" she says some time later.

i gasp. "hermione, it looks amazing!" i tell her, i could never do that on my own. she grins.

"i'm glad you like it. now i'm going to get ready, you should do the same." she tells me, heading off. i do my makeup, it's simple, but more than i usually wear. i then open my trunk and take out the dress my father sent me, he wrote that it used to be my mothers and she would have wanted me to wear it. of course i had to, and it's stunning as well.
