Even before I open an eye I stretch languidly, letting each of my muscles come to life again. I feel incredibly rested. I turn on my side with my nose in the pillow when I realise it's not my pillow. The smell of a man. Pleasant. I just don't dare open my eyes any more. I take a deep breath to try to get my thoughts straight. There's no need to panic. And then the images of last night come back to me. I finally open my eyes. I am in Can's room. But there is no trace of him. I get up in one go, look for my phone but it's not with me. I start to panic, but what was I thinking????

As I get closer to the door I hear voices in the living room. Can's voice of course, but another voice as well, a woman's voice. I don't dare go out. So I wait, taking my pain in patience. I don't even know what time it is.

After about ten minutes, which seem interminable, I hear the front door open and then close again. I put my head through the door and rush down the hallway at a snail's pace. I can hear Can having an increasingly agitated telephone conversation...

Shit. I hope I'm not the one causing him problems.

I find my phone on the coffee table and settle down on the sofa, uncomfortable. Can still hasn't noticed me, absorbed in his conversation.

I unlock my phone and find 20 missed calls.

And I thank him.

It's Seckin. He has left me 6 messages. The last one last night at half past one in the morning. I feel my heart beating wildly in my chest and I am trembling. What am I going to tell him? I'm bending my head in my hands, elbows on my knees, I don't feel very well.

I don't realise that Can has hung up and is staring at me, not quite sure how to start a conversation.

"Demet?"

I am startled.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you...are you all right?"

"Actually I'm a little embarrassed...I..."

"You have nothing to be embarrassed about, you fell asleep on my couch, I didn't want to wake you up so I just carried you into bed..."
