Chapter Sixteen

"One....two...three...four....uuuuh wait a minute. Why am I counting?" Dory uncovered her eyes and looked around.
"Hey. Hey, where is everyone? Did-did they leave me?!" Dory asked herself but then shook her head.
"I just gotta think. Um...I was covering my face...and so I was trying to hide. Wait, why was I trying to- *gasp!* OH WAIT!" Dory covered her eyes again.
"Five six seven eight nine ten! Ready or not! Here I come!" She called out. She swam up and found Marlin and Nemo's spot.
"Found you!" She said as Nemo laughed.
She than found her parents spot.
"I see you!" Dory told them.
She than found where the kids were hiding.
"Ah ha! Got ya!" Dory told them as they came out of their hiding spots.
"Alright, you little pipsqueaks. Recess is over." Hank called out to everyone.
"Aw man." Haley pouted as he came out of his hiding spot.
"Haha! Nobody found us!" Destiny told Sebrina.
"Now time for- don't touch me! Time for another lesson." Hank said.
"So when is Mr. Ray coming back from his vacation?" A student asked.
"If he's smart enough, he would stay away for as long as he can but until then, I'm your substitute teacher." Hank explained.
"Okay kids, who wants to learn about echolocation?" Bailey asked.
"Booooo. Nobody." The kids pouted.
Marlin, Dory, Sebrina Jenny and Charlie laughed.
"Welp, we're gonna go, kelpcake. Had fun!" Charlie swam away as Jenny followed.
"Nice day for a swim, huh?" Jenny smiled.
"Alright, bye mom. Bye dad!" Dory and Sebrina waved.
"Welp, I guess I'm gonna go home and brush up on the anemone. Hehe, you coming girls?" Marlin asked.
"Oh, I'm just gonna go to the drop-off." Dory smiled like it wasn't a big deal.
"Oh okay...WHAT? THE DROP-OFF?!" Sebrina turned to her.
"No! That's- that's a good idea?!" She asked.
"Yep. I'm just gonna go check out the view. Bye bye." Dory swam away.
"The view." Marlin laughed.
"Well, you have a good time...all by yourself...not...not getting...lost! Marlin called out to her.

As Dory hummed her song, she kept swimming around, on her way to the drop-off. Marlin and Sebrina hid as they watched her.
She than looked around and turned left, which confused the two.
When the followed, they could no longer see Dory.
"No no no Dory Dory...
Dory." They both slightly panicked but stopped and turned around.
Dory was at the drop-off looking at the view. Marlin and Sebrina smiled and swam up beside her.
"Hey Marlin. Hey Sebrina." She said without looking at them.
"Oh uh...hey Dory." Marlin said.
She looked at him.
"You alright? You look worried." Dory asked him.
"Oh uh... I'm fine. It's... it's how I always look." Marlin explained.
Both he and Sebrina looked at her again.
"...What?" She asked.
"Oh, uh nothing...it's just..." Marlin stuttered.
"You did it." Both clownfish told her.
She slightly gasped again.

*Flashback*

"Yaaaay!" Jenny cheered.
"You did it, kelpcake!" Charlie cheered as well.
"Did what?" Dory asked.
"Sweetie, you just followed the shells all the way back home!" Jenny explained, happily.
"*Gasp* oh my gosh! I did?! All by myself?!" Dory asked.
Both parents nodded.
"Do you know what this means, Dory?" Sebrina asked. She shook her head.
"It means..
You can do whatEVER you put your mind to, Dory." Jenny smiled.
"Really?" Dory looked up at the other kids playing around.
"*Gasp!* Mommy, can we go play with them?" Dory asked as Sebrina followed her.
"Absolutely! Go get them, girls!" Charlie told them.
Both girls laughed happily.

*Flashback ends*

"Yeah...I did it." Dory muttered, smiling.
"Hmm." She nodded and they all looked at the view again.
"I remember looking at this view every day with my friend when I was younger. You wanna know what we liked best about it?" Sebrina asked them as they both looked at her.
"This view would be always the same...yet it always shocked us when we looked at it." Sebrina explained.
"...it really is quite a view." Marlin said.
"...yep...unforgettable." Dory smiled.
